XD bringing 18 NEW figures

Post by steelbonnet » Thu Jul 13, 2006 1:24 pm

Well just popped onto the 21st site & AREA-21.

Looks like we`re in for a Blast of NEW WWII figures.

Quick quote...

1. 18 new figures in 1:18 scale are in development
2. The subject / era for these figures are WWII
3. At least 2 figures are confirmed as German DAK soldiers
4. All 18 figures are COMPLETELY NEW. (not repaints / or unit changes)
5. Expect some new American figures.
6. All 18 figures feature the newer articulation and maximum detail.
7. Figures will come with many accessories.
8. Many accessories have never been available before in 1:18.

Alas No pictures yet though Hey We know they ARE coming :D

Please Let at least 2 to 4 of them be BRITISH Inf or Airborne :D

I was really happy to hear that we had at least a couple of the German DAK figures!

I am also hoping "crossing my fingers" on at least 1 or 2 Germans in regular run of the mill Europe uniforms -Those are needed for troop building IMHO.

I think I can talk my way into getting photos soon. At least some of the figs.

GREAT NEWS!

DAK? Woooooo!

There ought be head packs too. It's hard to build a DAK unit(or any other for that matter) with just 2 heads.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

Fantastic! A year or so ago it involved a lot of waiting for new XD stuff to come out to buy; now so much is coming out I can't keep up with it (buying it all), but that's great!

Maybe this will pave the way for that DAK Kubel to come out from all those years ago. Or even a radio man and medic. I, too, am excited by the DAK. Maybe we will see a sort of international assortment--ie Brits and Ruskies. WooHoo bring them on.

GET THE ___ OUT OF TOWN!!!

This is the best news possible for me. No other announcement could be better, seriously..it is all downhill from here. HOLY...OK, I know I always advocate for a little peak into the future but these I cannot wait for...I almost would rather not have known...18? DAK? New Accessories (can we dream a little here - 30 Cal? Litter? Radio?) * Welling up * If the figures are even close to the recent pilots in terms of detail and articulation I need to take out a loan....let's see..18 x $5 x army builder quantities = seriously, I need to start putting money aside..

This is great so that we do not have to have the same mold/head over and over. I can't wait. I hope that they stay at the same price point.

This is some good news! DAK soldiers will be much appreciated, and since there are 18 new figures, dare we expect some British and Russians?

Please let the new articulation be ball joints in the shoulders and ball joints at the hips! Give the kind of articulation that PTE figures have!!!

Everyone interested join me in the chant: Russians, Russians, Russians! Da!

Or, for those of you in the european union: Brits! Brits! Brits! Shrubbery!

:-)

Either way, they're going to have to make a Matilda or a T-34 if they open up a new front/faction. Twist my arm! :P

The possibilities are so great, Russians, Brits (para's pls?), more German (Afrika Corps), hey even more Japanese would be too cool.

Knowing what I know now about the articulation issues with the S1 american & german army, american & german paratroopers, since they're not available anymore i'd love to see these remade using the new body work. I only say this since i don't have them.

That might be part of the reason why they may not. I want Brits as bad as anyway (it was their war long before it was ours!) and they kicked ass in the figure poll IIRC but I still see it as a long shot. Especially since we can expect DAK and more GIs, I just doubt the "British are coming." Same with Russians, I am just not getting my hopes up. Most important to me is all new, with the new articulation and emphasis on detail. The accessories part has me intrigued as well seeing as how the Japanese came with SO many goodies, and the recent re-releases were packed with extra helmets, clothes, heads, etc.. I really cannot wait..

i could see them doing maybe a couple of british and russian soldiers....sort of generic army builders to test the waters and satisfy people like us.

Doesn't mean they'd feel the need to produce british and russian armour. They've made both british and russian troops in 1/32 and have not produced any british or russian armour in that scale. So maybe a couple of desert rats to go along with the couple of DAK?
i never met an airplane i didn't like...
