Hello All,
21st Century just announced the imminent release of its first ever diecast composite 1:18 scale PzKpfw IV Ausf. H medium tank. This item comes with two figures and is exected to ship sometime in January. We'll post this info on our web site once we obtain a clearer image from 21st Century Toys.

NICE
WOW THAT IS GOOD NEWS. Has diecast ever been sold online? I think only the random M4 that BCA has gotten....
Please let one figure not be a commander.....but really it could be a clown and I would be buying them up so who cares

Thanks for the great news!! It's pretty damn cool that all of the new XD vehicles are diecast hulled. It puts that believeable heft into the model. Now if the Mk IV had an interior...........

Thanks for the intel. I've been waiting in eager anticipation. Now I just gotta figure out how to get enough scratch together.

BCA has got the preorder up for $49.95 with a nice picture! Expected to ship 1/3/05. It looks like the figures are repainted versions of the BoB winter tankers! Going to have to get 3 more (or customize some) to go with this baby!

Gonna have to get me one of those, but I may hold off on the preorder as I really want to hear more about the features. Given that the M-113 was a rather good peice of armor, I am seriously hoping this thing has an interior and can hold 4-5 figures! I like the featured paint scheme, it will go nicely with my tan SDK-251!

Good good
Leave it to BCA to be waiting on the dock...thanks Rob!
Anyway I must agree that the front does look narrow. It doesn't look like there is any room on the far side....
But the BEST thing is that stock description has the term "first up" which means there is to be at least a 2d!!
Now can somebody find the smaller scale model this is based on, or better yet a profile for the album?

yes!
YES! I have been waiting for this vehicle since the start of the XD line. So many possibilities with it. The figures dont look too bad either. Ships January 3 eh? Just 17 days before my birthday...

Oh yeah, baby!!!! I really can't believe how far we've gone fellas..... I remember the doom period of nothing and now we got a 109G, MK IV, Bubbletop, M113, etc,etc,etc..... Who would of thought? Dreams do come true sometimes. Awesome picture. I don't understand why the elevated gun, though. With the schurtzen on the sides, it will look sweet!

Glad you asked!! I always thought this tank looked cool in Winter Camo
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl= ... f%26sa%3DN
And as you can see it was used that way:

They also should do a North Africa scheme, but there is less urgency there as we would need figures first
Also that scheme is rather bland. I think they did a good job of picking a paint scheme that is easily modified but also just fine left alone.
Now, if they could just do mods like they did with the 32x Panzers we could see

We have enough aircraft, we should really get some flak up into the airspace.

It would have to be back dated to a "G" , shorter gun lenght or "F" model, even shorter length and a few minor mods, to have been used in N. Africa. "H" models were used in Western Europe and Russia. A basic sand color itself or using any combination with green and brown with the sand would be appropriate. Basically the same as the Panther choices.
It wouldn't take much to mod to an MK IVF2. Just cut off the muzzle break and form a new "ball" type break in it's place. Remove the Schurtzen brackets, fill in the holes and you are good to go!
( I'm sure there are some other detail changes, but hey I wouldn't notice it)

umm...
Has anyone noticed this part of the description:
"The 1:18 scale PzKpfw IV will also come with two articulated panzer crewmen which can be placed inside the vehicle."
Read that how you may, I know how I'm gonna read it...
(sorry if that's been pointed out).

Once again, the figures look a bit big for the tank due to the bulk of the clothes and size of head. I'll probably take the arms and legs off the driver so he can fit in the vehicle.............
