PTE ain't dead!!

Post by Shin Densetsu » Sun Jul 09, 2006 7:51 pm

Guys remember that Blue A-10 that Marauder John unveiled@ the joecon? The blue one is a limited edition with a 500 production run. The regular one is light gray! And PTE is the one making them!

I KNEW something was up! The bombs were similar to the ones used on the F-18 from PTE. The toy will come w/USAF decals!

Taken from this post from MJ himself!
Marauder "Gun-Runners" 1:18 Scale A-10 Attack Jet The "Combat Raider" DARK BLUE version of the A10 Warthog. Wingspan is over 25 inches and plane measures almost 24 inches long. Plane will be molded in DARK BLUE PLASTIC (NOT painted), bombs will be black and jet will have working & STURDY landing gear. Will come with USAF decal sheet (to use as needed). The Dark Blue Marauder Jet is an exclusive version of the regular issue light gray USAF A10 (w/ green bombs) from PTE. The Dark Blue jet has a target price point of $40 or less and should be available in November.
HELL YES!! Just when I thought PTE was straight up dead! please please bring us an F-14!!

here are some pics!

http://joebattlelines.com/images/joecon ... /index.htm

Rejoice hog lovers and forget the chap mei, we got a AWESOME A-10 to tide us over till BBI makes one or such.

AWESOME!!(BTW I hope PTE or something makes an exclusive for TRU like they did with their F-18...green camo or something. SHARK mouth stickers are a must!!)

How is this one better than the Combat Command version? We already have one underscaled A-10 so I was not too excited by this news. And I gave up my Cobras long ago so the Blue exclusive means nothing to me, but I can see how Joe fans would be psyched.

Well, if this one is bigger than the Combat Command line and more in scale, then it will be excellent news.

Its still underscaled but its bigger than the combat command one.I believe this one measures 25 wing and 24 legth, which puts it it about a foot short of 1/18 but definelty better then the target one.

Digger did you see the pics? Sure it might be "joe scale" but in this case, it totally looks more A-10'ish than the combat command one does.

its more accurate to the real A-10 than the chap mei and the combat command combined. I mean just look at the weapons. I was astounded by the selection!

BTW guys, eh the link I posted has pics. :D

It would still need to be about 50% bigger to be 1/18 so it is not even close.

But it looks more accurate to an A-10 than the combat command version.

You are right though that the armament selection is quite nice.

It's nice for "Joescale"......but it AIN'T 1/18 like they are advertising. I wish they would quit coming up "short" and do it right. I definitely fall in tlhe "hog lover" category and I'll pass.

A TRUE 1/18 A-10 needs to be made, then there will definitely be some head turning!!!!!

BBI or Admiral Toys, PLEASE SAVE US!!!!

 :D

Go Ugly Early in 1/18 scale!

Still waiting and wishing for a 1/18 A-10 Warthog.

Didn't BBi make an A-10? I saw one on eBay, it looked horrible.

I think it was because MJ has 1/18 scaled weapons, maybe it would seem more similar? Who knows.

Now that I know PTE made it I am not surprised it is "joe scale". Still its the best "joe scale" A-10 yet!

along with some new and old armor... but the A-10 is their new jet
the transport is the new heli... and the small stuff hasnt been officially announced, but i heard there is a new Hummvee with the missle battery on back.
Still withering away from the A-10 Hunger Striker.

That "A-10" was made by bbi but for a different toy line called Combat Command. It is supposed to be a "Target Exclusive" line to fill the gap in their shelves that the 3 3/4" Joes left. Many of us here are hoping that bbi might possibly be working on an A-10 for the Elite Force line (one that is true to scale and not underscaled) after some hints given at the last toy shows.

any idea what the new armour from PTE will be? I'm still thinking they are our best chance of a T-72 type tank and with the real tank's small size it could be true 1/18 no problem...

You know, we gripe about 21C and BBi on release dates, distribution, etc. Man, PTE and Chap Mei have them beat. Chap Mei has alot of stuff you can't even find in the US, and its impossible to get info out of PTE. Oh well, I'm just hoping my Navy PTE divers show up one day

I really liked some of PTE's stuff and I remember their supposed plan to push some thing where you order pieces you want and upon next shipment they'd be in... I was looking forward to this to order hedgehogs and some other pieces (the bunk set especially) in some bulk... And now, blah.

Cool for Joe guys, but this couldn't be less interesting to me unfortunately. :( I sorta keep holding out hope they'll keep certain pieces in stock, like the hedgehogs, and available to go buy any time you want... Without having to buy a set of figures and vehicles you can't use and don't want to get them.

PTE is a really good brand and it offers more options than some of the more expensive lines.

I like them.

I too LOVE the PTE line! The figures are the best articulated soldiers on the market today! Just wish I could find them in stores closer to me! Over on the PT chat room, news of this year's releases is coming soon! Heck, I'd even trade XD & FOV for PTE stuff!!

Not that I really have any XD now to trade, but I do have one FOV that's listed in the 'Buy/Sell/Trade' section :D

It's more a Power Team chat room, but they do cover PTE 1:18! Here's the link:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Power-Team/
Look for Gordon Chin's posts as he's the guy now who runs M & C Toys that makes Power Team stuff.
It'd be GREAT if they made WWII stuff, or WWI, or Civil War, or....
