No problem there Mighty. I think you will be surprised when 21st kicks out the redone P-51.............

You know, just for laughs, the supposed new 21st mustang should be done in the same paint scheme as the BBI plane, to heighten the competition. I'm only joking

I seriously doubt that 21st would do their Mustang in the same markings but it would be funny indeed. Everyone talks about 21st coming out with a re-vamped Mustang but has anyone heard of what the status was on it? It could be awhile before we see thier Mustang knowing 21st's track record.

I hear 'ya, MM!
I've checked mine again and all navigation lights are present and accounted for (including the tail light)!

In July of last year, I was told it was currently being tooled. I'm sure it's done by now.

I think I remember someone saying that they the mustang was finishing tooling patterns back in october or something. So that sounds right that we would be seeing a new one sometime 1st quarter 05. Any guesses out there what the schemes might be? Do you think the flying undertaker scheme might come out afterall? You can see that scheme mocked up on the older mold in the unproduced XD pic folder!

I look forward to seeing if 21st can match the great-looking BBI Mustang.

I tried emailing Roy Sutherland seeing if I could get some feed back on what the new tool 21st Mustang will be like and so far nothing. Its going to be very interesting to see if 21st can indeed match BBI's Mustang. Thats if we ever see it.

Right you are. MM. IF we ever see it.
It seems to me that 21st will have its work cut out for it as the BBI's is such a nice plane. If we get lucky, 21st might try to do an even better job. Notice that "if" word again....

I got a question. Why are the external tanks on the bbi P-51 SO far out of position? The pylons mount in one of the ammo chutes and are way too far back on the wing. With all of the detailing on the plane, why such a obvious inaccuracy?? Wierd!

Yeah Baby!! I relocated the pylons by cutting off the attachment peg and glueing it into the correct position. I knew the plane didn't look right!! Check out the pictures of the mod in the miscellanious folder. Me Likey!!!
-Ski
ps: The thing that sucks is that the plane came with pylons for the left wing, so one is cocked at a slight angle..... Let me know if yours did too...

Boy, I'm doing all sorts of things with the bbi P-51. You can completely and safely pull the flaps off as they're attached by tabs. Since the middle tab broke on one flap, I simply snapped off the one on the other wing and now both flaps can get about a 40 degree deflection. Those middle tabs aren't needed at all!! I also took a black sharpie pen to the engine inlet scoop and also did the oil cooler by removing the cowl that is easily taken off. What a difference tanks and flaps make............

WWII back at TRU? I didn't think the new planes would be found there! Isn't there some kind of corporate moral objection? On the other end, 21st (which was prevented from selling WWII products at TRU) must be mad... but then they've got a niche at Wal Mart, which is economically killing TRU.

The price was $39.99...but I used a $5 off coupon, so I got it for $35. The box is small and narrow compared to the 21st century planes....

I have a feeling that the bbi Mustang will have about the same store coverage as the F-18. I don't think the vast majority of the stores ever got the F-18, and the Mustang might be the same............
