Could it be a F-100 Super Saber?
or any one of the Century Fighters?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

I am sorry to say that it is not a B-52! Although personally an 8 foot plane would be a ton of fun!

The new "thing" is not that big in size.

It is something that people here have requested for a while now so I am sure many people will be happy to see it.

Just so that things don't get too out of control here... Don't expect it to be a bomber (B-25) or anything like that. It is quite a bit smaller and packs a pretty good punch. Something like this has never been done before from 21st in 1:18 scale. Most of us will want more than one.

That raised more questions than it solved...
I have no clue what it could be, anyone care to take a guess?
Never been done before... is it not a ground or air item?
Could it be a water-based thing?
Can also be a non-moblie cannon I guess (Dont really want one though)

Thanks for the hint TKO!

Now it is not going to be revealed until tomorrow. Perhaps a 1/18 aircraft carrier-that should fit in one of those standard boxes and would give us lots of diorama possibilities.

Yeah, like one of those "candy toys".. You can buy it piece by piece until the whole thing is assembled..

small and packs a punch... 88 anti tank gun, Me 163 comet?

or an infantry man with bazooka? Or the trailer with the rocket launchers.

something they already did in 1/32.

T-34 was smallish...

something "wicked"...V-1, or a girl on a broomstick

Yeah, a V1 doodle bug with launch cradle would be cool. Would go well on the shelf or hung from the ceiling (while being chased down by a spitfire).

ok guys I guess I better come clean...

It's a 1:18 scale WWII carrier pigeon. The ones that would carry messages across enemy lines! I told you it was small and you guys would want more than one! It also comes with bird coupe. Totally cool!

Now we know it IS the PAK40 & we all know 21st did this at 1/6th too.

Does this mean we may finally see at XD the Swimmerwagon & the Kettenkrad & sidecar combos from 21st now????
As they`d be simple down scales.

Still plenty of NEW directions for them to go in too of course but those 3 that 21st once made at 1/6th would be nice now to have in 1/18th :D

SURPRISE

Post by normandy » Sun Jul 09, 2006 5:50 am

I think there's a very good chance of seeing some of the 1/6th stuff as well as 1/32nd become part of the XD line. We've been told 21st is going to do a King Tiger :D and we will soon have a Pak-40 seems the future for 1/18th looks good.
The detail on this Pak 40 looks fantastic, moving and removeable parts... this thing is going to be a must have. Now the German 88 this is going to be a real a$$ kicker in 1/18th it should be due out in mid................... just kidding but an 88 in XD would do very well.
Thanks 21st!!!

Oh Pak 40 price at walmart.....$23.84 :P
