Fantastic! I always swore that if they re-released the M48 then I'd pick up at least one more, and maybe two or three. I'd better ask for a raise....

That was the Navy Seal Tactical Vehicle. It came with the Stinger missile (mounted behind the driver) and two LAW missiles mounted on the hood.

it's likely so. the oil crisis in the 70's is what killed the 12" GI Joe line.
One thing I never understood about that is why didn't it effect the Barbie line of toys?

Getting a little back on topic, you know, this little Mutt vehicle is starting to grow on me. It is a shame it didn't come with any sort of figure, but the vehicle itself is quite nice. (I never got the origional Mutt). The TOW Launcher is well detailed and I love the folding seats and radio set mounted in the bed of the Mutt. I put a couple spare BBI figures on it and the vehicle looks pretty good.

I think the mystery of the TOW launcher tripod that came with the XD Hummers has also been answered. If one looks at the tripod that comes with the Mutt, the pieces are nearly identical to the ones that came with the Hummer. A critical central piece (which the legs and supports mounted to) was missing from the Hummer's tripod assembly that made it impossible to properly construct.

I think the center piece was actually attached to the inside of the Hummer. However, looking at the detailing on the "wheel" I don't think it would have been able to accept the legs anway.

I have the TOW Mutt as well and its one of my favorite jeeps.
