Thats all well and good, But this isn't the first 1/18 plane they have produced. All the planes produced to this point have to had problems that were resolved and those lessons should be applied before any new production is started.I can't imagine the problem isn't solvable but like any manufacturing process, there can be pitfalls even experienced product designers and engineers can't forsee in pre-production.
What many people don't realize is that quality control usually has the last say in these kinds of assembly-line product issues. Lots of finger-pointing can go on before a team of people finally comes up with the real solution, but putting the right people to work on it usually produces the desired result.
I only hope it doesn't discourage them from stretching the product line into larger airplanes.
Assuming the design and production team are the same group from S1 Me 109 days.
It would be stupid to hire new design teams for each new plane planned.
I see online retailers are already issuing statements to refund pre-orders.
I believe businesses have to deliver a product by 60 days if they have charged your card. A lot of money being returned...

I'd almost be willing to bet there are a few dozen cases of them in the pipeline. They may be sitting in a container on a ship or maybe even on the dock or still in customs - but they probably all have whatever the fatal flaw is so they'd need to be retrofitted with the new parts and I'll also bet that's done stateside rather than face the time and expense of shipping them back.
Personally, the idea of having to take them out of the packaging, fix them and put them back in would be a recurring nightmare after about the tenth one.
Then again, I'd probably be willing to take a couple of days and crank a few out (carefully, of course), if that meant I got one at a, well, you know, discount!

Well the fatal flaw has to be the wing folding mechanism. I don't suppose the license included the reproduction of the real hinge in miniature.
Everything else should be a standard production procedure.
I just had a braim storm, the hold up is the little alien figures! The US goverment is waiting for the model release paperwork from the embassy on Zeta Retuli.

BadCat changed their title photo from the Avenger being mauled by Zeros, to a BBI Corsair being mauled by Zeros!
Are they that sure the Avenger is lost for ever?... I hope it isnt

I don't post that often but your pictorial quip had me laughing out loud in the office! So this is the Avenger production line at 21st? The guys on the left look mighty annoyed that all their tampo printing work was for nothing!
Seriously I don't mind waiting, it will come and the price point will be honored I'm sure of that.
Regards

Talk to us.
I guess the only source of information about the Avenger delay will have to come from BCA's website. RKO, why won't 21C talk to us? Are we not the ultimate customers?
