Future 1/32 FOV aircraft releases?

Does anyone know if Unimax plans to release any new 1/32 aircraft or have they dropped the line. Sorry for all the 1/32 questions lately, but I am getting out of 1/18 and moving to 1/32 since purchasing a 32x zero. The detail is amazing for something so small and the 32x aircraft are a great space sazer for my house and my wallet.

Bravo, After FOV botched the last 1/32 scale releases, I hear that they are revamping the line to be re-released later.. But I don't know how much later..

Your best bet in 1/32 scale aircraft is 21st Century and Corgi..
If you haven't looked at the 1/32 Corgi line, it is really nice and you can get the following planes:

P-51D
Spitfire
Hurricane
Bf-109G

They are kinda pricey @$60-$90 each, but they are also metal, unlike the 32x plastic stuff..

Thanks for the info. I have the 109G-6 from Corgi and love it, but I thought they (Corgi) were dropping the line?

No, they are releasing the prototype Spit and the Hermann Graf Bf-109G in the" working range" in the second half of '06.. I just got the Sea hurricane a few weeks ago and it is REALLY nice...

Hmmm..... I'm not sure which ones you are talking about, but I have the P-51 and two Spitfires from FOV that I recently bought from TRU, and in my opinion they are far superior to anything I have seen thus far from 21C, I mean it's just my opinion, and I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers here, I suppose you might want to elaborate a little bit on your definition of "botched"... what could you say about the landing gear in the FOV airplanes? The opinions I heard are, that the 21st CT 1/32 planes were better than the FOV ones. All right, I like the 21st CT planes very much (I have got one and will have more...), the question 'metal or plastic' is for me in the case of planes not so important, but the gear of 21stCT FW 190 D I have is for me to thin. And it's a problem, I would like to 'circle' and 'drive' with the plane and it's very difficult. So, what do you think?

Wieslaw, as I said previously, I am not trying to start a war here, everyone has their own opinion on these things, and it is largely subjective as to what appeals to one individual or another. But I could not disagree more about the FOV planes being botched, or any other uncomplimentary word that some folks might want to use. In my humble opinion 21C could take a lesson or two from FOV when it comes to 1/32 aircraft, but again this is just my opinion, and your mileage may vary. On the other hand, the all plastic 21C aircraft ARE considerably cheaper, so to a certain extent I think you get what you pay for. With regard to the gear, I have no complaints about the gear on any of my FOV birds thus far, but I can't speak for anyone elses experiences in this regard. All the best,

Think, but not sure, that when people say the fov planes were botched they mean the first series that came out a while back, not the ones showing up now that it seems you might have purchased. Not my scale or subject matter, but I thought the planes out now were sort of a wave 2.

Yeah Digger, that very well could be the case, I really can't say for certain because I never owned any FOV planes till about a month ago when I purchased two Spits and a P-51D at TRU. This much I can tell you without hesitation....the ones I have are superior in just about every respect to the all plastic offerings from 21st Century, but OTOH they are nearly twice the price. Don't get me wrong, the 21C planes are quite good for the money, but it's sort of like comparing apples to oranges, both have their strong points if you know what I mean. Cheers,

I have one of the FOV Spits - and have been considering getting a P-51. While costing nearly twice as much as the 32x planes, the FOV planes do have more functionality and accessories than the 21c planes. Their P-51 and ME-109G are also more accurate than their 32x counterparts (even though the 32x ME-109 is the E model and the FOV is the G). The Enthusiast editions of the aircraft also have the weathering, which I like. They even got the wing dihedral, which 21c still has trouble getting.

What buggs me about the current FOV planes are the exposed screws and screwholes on the undersides as well as the ordinance on some of the aircraft (espeically the toyish rockets on the P-51 & bombs on the Spitfire). 21c has done a much better job in these respects, IMHO.

I own the FOV Spit and P51 toy editions and the ME109 collector edition. They all are superb models. The ME109 is ALL diecast where the toy/action models have mostly plastic in the wings (some of the rudders are metal) but the fusliage is all metal. IMO compared to a Corgi, the FOV models are every bit as good at 1/3 the price. I can't comment on the 21C stuff as I don't own any.

I agree that you get what you pay for mostly. The 21st planes are great for about $15, the FOV aren't bad for $30, and the Corgi's are awesome for $60+.
