Rotorhub, a helicopter-related online news thingy, has a story telling how a new DoD "decision" is causing grief for equipment manufacturers - I apologise for posting what could be considered an advert for them, but the implications are far wider than just giving corporate Marketing bods a headache.
Mike from BBI has already mentioned in the BBI Information Q&A forum about copyright ownership for aircraft affecting which ones they can make, and BAE Systems has levied a charge on the maker of a Playstation2 game for using the image of the BAE Hawk - depending upon how far DoD is prepared to go (and how paranoid we're feeling!), this could give us all a whole load of grief...
Imagine if DoD now starts banning model manufacturers from using US markings on "new" kit...
On the other hand, at least it means that more non-US hardware may get a look-in for a change!

WOW that`s scary though isn`t the DoD owned by the Goverment which in turn is owned by the People??
If that IS the case surely they CANNOT do that?
Though as you say mate It`s looking Better for us None International lot then for future releases
HAHA Not like they can claim to own the right to Woodland camo, the "fritz" helmet etc as that many other Countries now use both of these or there own version (hell even China has plenty of US equivalant stuff so Humvee`s & US apprearance troops done with the PLA flag on them instead??? ).

If it's an issue about national markings, that's easy. Just handle it like they did with the Imperial Chinese markings on the AVG P-40s. Sure stickers suck, but I'd rather have no pre-painted national markings than no airplane. JMO
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

As I have always said ...this is a complex area...we work closely with all the Armed Forces and take care to avoid breaches
