Has the M48 made a re-appearance anywhere?

Subject line sez it all. Was pumped over the rumored Sahara M48, sad to hear of the termination.

(Can't believe that 21C can't see the business they'd get in re-popping their M48.)

It has not re-appeared. I too would love to see it come out but I am sure people on here could comment on how they were piled up at TRU - often on clearance - when they first came out. I guess that didn't stop the re-release of the M41

Perhaps they are waiting for the Platoon line, which I am sure is plagued with delays just beause anything involving movies/actors' likeness is such a [legal] pain in the a55 unless you are Hasbro.

Yeah, bummer. I mean, the Sahara patton was pure fantasy in terms of the camo scheme, I can't recall any user of the real tank that painted any like that, but it's still a cool looking model. I see some green ones on e-bay periodically, but be prepared to shell out close to 100 bucks or more for one, ouch!!

[Spoil Movie Plot ALERT]

The M48 Patton, M113 APC and Huey were all in the last part of the movie when the bad guy goes after Dirk Pitt and company when they reach the ironclad.

I believe the Patton WAS in the movie Sahara. We are talking about the "new" Sahara. The "old" one, with Boggie featured a M-3 Grant and far outdated the M-48 Patton tank.

The 21C M-48 is around, especially eBay (two listed as of this AM). I'd be suprised if the M-48 is ever rereleased by 21C. Just not in the cards.

But then, I believe that bunnies lay multicolored eggs once a year, and a big old fat guy squeezes down my chimney once a year and I DO NOT greet him with a 12 guage. :P

I've sworn to myself repeatedly that if they ever re-release the M48 I'm getting at least one more. It's still the best piece of armor in my collection.
