Has WM carried Armour planes long?

Post by vmf214 » Fri Apr 28, 2006 4:44 pm

To my surprise while on a 32xw hunt at a WM in my AO found a whole shelf of Armour 1/100 aircraft. At $14.95 ea you can't beat it. Don't recall the box saying anything about Franklin Mint (unless I just missed it). About 6 different WW2 birds and 6 modern. :D

Thats news I believe, to my knowledge, the only diecast aircraft they had been carrying as of late were the Matchbox (and reports have those as dried up) and Corgi. Upon reading your post, will be hitting MANY WM's in and around my AO.

Regards,
Todd

Went back to the WM with the Armour planes. They've already restocked the WW2 planes which I had cleaned out a couple days ago. Wish they'd restock 21st stuff that quick!

Just out of curiousity, which modern aircraft did they have?

I saw the F-16 Falcon, F-18 Blue Angels and a couple of others, but they really didn't interest me that much, so I didn't look too close..

VMF and HW - Thanks for taking the time to respond.
VMF - do you by chance recall which F-14/F-4/F-15?

Thanks in advance.

Searched several (6) WM's in my AO this weekend, and didn't find a single Armour AC. I neglected to ask in a previous post, is the packaging the same as they've been using half (top) being the window and bottom, the remainder of the box? also, were they stocked in the diecast aisle?

Thanks yet again for the assistance.

Different packaging that I've not seen before in 1/100 scale, all cardboard. The Phantom is camo, not sure which squadron's the 3 you mention are from though.

The Armour planes I saw were over with the models, NOT in the diecast isle.... The packaging looks like the Standard box as I recall..

I've encountered them in the diecast isle and the model isle. Also at one WM they were in with the action figures...

Anyone on the East Coast finding these? I've been to every WM within 50mi of my AO and have yet to see a single FM/Armour piece on the shelves. Please post if you've run across these pieces in the NE region (DC/Md/Va/De/Pa/WV)

TIA

spotted

Post by Coreyeagle48 » Wed Jun 07, 2006 7:49 pm

These have been spotted in the Walmart in Trexlertown PA where I live. Oddly enough, this is the exact same Walmart that usually gets nadda for 21st Century stuff in terms of planes so I don't know what the deal is. Didn't look too closely what was there but I did see the F-16 and the P-40. They didn't interest me so I didn't pay attention. But they were in this Walmart
