Did a quick search of ebay and looked closely at the photos. I counted six different paint schemes for the Macchi. Anyone know if thats the total thats going to be released.

Yes, you're right, there are six versions of the Macchi - 3 versions of the Macchi C.202 Folgore and 3 of the Macchi C.205 Veltro. The Veltros have a modified engine with extra intakes and the 20mm cannon barrels on the wings, as well as late-war Italian (and German) paintschemes. The aircraft moulds are otherwise the same.

I don't know if this is the total number that will be released as 21c always tends to release a few more repaints down the line. Nonetheless, having six aircraft out at once gives the collector something to look for. I personally like the paintschemes for the C.202 Folgores the best, though all are interesting!

Have only seen 2 Veltro's, Italian and the tan Luftwaffe S1 version. What's the 3rd?

The one that came to the west coast:

Its not a bad scheme, though I like the gray one you got in your neck of the woods as well.

The 205's & A6m3's have yet to make it to SW MO, but I did see the 3rd 205 on ebay, grayish camo with Italian flags, not bad.

am i seeing things or are the spinners on both the 202 and 205 wrong? It looks like it's the shape of the 205's spinner but about the size of the 202's spinner. The spinner on the 202 was small and had a blunt, 'clipped' looking tip.

I'm thinking that 21c made a sort of compromise spinner to use on both versions that resembled both but was accurate to neither...
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

I think you're right about the 21c compromise. The 21c aircraft, overall, seems to more closely resemble the MC.202 (with the minor modifications made to make it the MC.205) but that's just my opinion
