Anyone done/considered this Razorback custom?

Post by flpickupman » Wed Apr 05, 2006 8:31 am

In an effort to create/obtain as many planes or vehicles from the North African area of operation, I stumbled across Herschel "Herky" Green of the 325th FG that operated P-47D Razorbacks out of North Africa and Italy. Coincedentally, they had a checker tail scheme nearly identical to the one represented by Glen Eagleston's Group. The only major diferences I see are the black and yellow painted cowl flaps (Green's plane was minus this), and Eagleston's personal nose art. Additionally, Green's P-47 was #11 while Eagleston's was #17 (only have to change one number there). It looks as if even I should be able to pull this off without too much fuss. Has anyone already done this or considered it? Also, would anyone happen to know where I might locate a better photo of Green's plane?

This is the best I could find for Green's P-47

and here's the Eagleston Razorback for comparison..

What do y'all think? Yes, no, maybe?
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

That is a good idea, also the Hurry Home Honey P-51 can become Nooky Booky.

Hmmmmm ;)
