Stopped at the Bannister Walmart just before closing and noticed they had two 104 on the top shelf. Went back the next day and could only find one. The clear plastic was torn halfway off and the box had a large tear. However everything appeared to be there. Box was marked $25.00 so I grabbed it. Made my day till I got home and found the letter from the IRS.

Well, I finally found one at Wally World in Middletown, OH. I have to say I am damn impressed. I didn't want to get one of these planes at first, but then I found out my dad probably flew one so it was a must have. Now that I actually have one in person, Oh My Gosh! It's awesome. I hope the Avenger is up to quality with it. Because if it is, it will be superb.

Spotted a USAF 104 a couple of days ago. They had put 4 new 1:18s out. This was after having 4 yellownose Stukas on the shelves for awhile. I bought 3 of the Stukas myself, someone else the other. There were two different me-109s, a Sky Captain P-40, and the USAF 104. Looks like the Walmarts don't really restock until all of the items are sold. I'm guessing the 1:18s come in a case of 4 and they won't open a case to restock until they can put out all 4 pieces at the same time.
F104 Tailhook?
Can someone tell me why an aircraft that wasn't comfortable flying under 300 mph, has a tailhook?
p.s USAF Starfighters are now in Dallas.

Re: F104 Tailhook?
All USAF fighter bases have arrestor cables at the end of the runways in case of drag chute or brake failures. You will note the same thing on the F-16 and other fighters: All have arrestor hooks on them for this reason....nathanita wrote:Can someone tell me why an aircraft that wasn't comfortable flying under 300 mph, has a tailhook?

The F-104 had a drag chute.

F104 Tailhook
Thanks, Teamski -
I was trying to imagine the look on the LSO's face as a Starfighter attempts to catch the 3rd wire on a rolling carrier deck...

I'm in central California and in the 5 Wal Marts in the immediate Fresno area (6 if you count the huge one in Dinuba) there has been nothing regarding the new planes. All of these stores have the S1 "Herman Graff" ME-109Gs, howeverimmeww2 wrote:Has anyone in Northern CA spotted the F-104, Sahl or Hack yet? My AO has not seen nada of them.

The new Hummers and Dodge truck have also been no-shows thus far, which is troubling considering that they have been spotted in number elsewhere in Ca

Hopefully this delay is due to them focusing on other projects, like the Avenger. Further, I hope that same plane doesn't experience the same delays in paint schemes as well, especially when its one we will want. At least we have two versions of the F-104 already out, and not waiting to arrive

Here in Atlanta, the silver F-104s are slowly but surely dissappearing, event the ones with torn boxes. The German 104s are headed that way too, with only a few stores still having their alottment of two left. The German 104,along with it's box, still stands out like a diamond in a turd among all the tacky and assinine cheap car, cycle and truck products overflowing the shelves. Whaddul it beeee???- the rc motorcycle with the skeleton rider or the green SNOOPDOGGYDOG rc cadillac??????????
