Just adding a little more to Kagnew's post on F-4 heritage flights. This info apparently from the horse's mouth i.e. 2 F-4 heritage flight pilots:
As long as maintenace doesn't get to be a big problem, the USAF is committed to keeping the F-4 in the Heritage Flight as long as there are serviceable airframes to used. They have painted up 6 jets (2 at Holoman and 4 at Tyndall) in paint schemes representing each of the aircraft's 4 decades in active service (60's, 70's , 80's, 90's). The Vietnam era was the one era missing from the Heritage Flights, so the USAF wanted to find a way to fill that gap and so they are committed to the F4 participation for the foreseeable future.

HAHAHAHAHA Yep I am indeed from Good Olde Blighty
Sounds like you got some great shots whilst over here mate Hope the skies where blue when you took the shots LOL
The F4 still flies for the RAF I think,or at least as part of a flight of somesort. As on the MoDphoto site they have some recent photos of F4s landing at a RAF base. Must admit either still in service or part of a flight It`s Great to still see the F4 still flies over Blighty
So Kagnew,
How the hell does an Englishman actually write??? LOL
No UK to US spelt words were in the post to give it away. So is it sentence structre? I`d truely love to know Well done though
HAHAHAHA

The use of "mate" in a sentence helps me to narrow it down - and then I think you've mentioned you were from the UK now and thensteelbonnet wrote: How the hell does an Englishman actually write??? LOL

Ahhhhh Some Mixed heritage there Kagnew. Both with LONG & Proud historys too
WOW Vietnam, first person I actually know who is a vet of that war. Great respect to you mate. Also nice of the US Goverment to let you play in Europe & West Africa a Lot
Would love to see the F4 fly by photo
TmantheGreat,
Ohhh I`m well aware I`ve said I`m British & I do use "mate" a lot...LOL
Just with Kagnew saying from that particular post. I double checked it & did`nt see "mate" or any other give aways, well apart from saying AV8-B/GR5 (GR5 of course being the Royal Air Force harrier).
I was just really curious purely from that post what gave me away
Though nothing to ashamed of is a bit a National pride After all you Americas oooze that. Whilst we Brits have a tendancy to down play or not make a big show due to Political Correctness making being Proud a bad thing

WOW 82nd Abn & 75th Rangers. Bet you have a Big board of ribbons then & of course awards too.
As said got a LOT of respect for you & also for any who serve/Have Served (whichever nation), No matter what the Political interests of that Combatiants Goverment.
It`s the people in Uniform who make the differences Not the Politicians IMHO.
Looking forward to seeing the photos when there up

True, but the Phantom was a handful to fly and I believe there were more than a few fatal accidents involving the F-4 during it's tenure as the mount for the t-birds and blue angels. I believe it's safety record coupled with high operating an maintenance costs were two of the main reasons it was phased out of it's airshow role. The diminutive T-38 Talon had one of the best safety records of any USAF airshow bird if memory serves me.--Flown concurrently by Blue Angels & T-Birds

I was so into the f-4 that I did my senior year term paper on this plane. My teacher was a little disturbed at this but given the detail I put into it along with the photos and a 1/48 model I got the grade I needed to graduate.
