Does anyone know of a good site that shows German U-boat uniforms in color. Much appreciated

Osprey Publishing has put out several good books on the subject, including:

Grey Wolf - U-Boat Crewmen of WWII
German Seaman (1939-1945)

And a couple of others that I can't lay my hands on at the moment.

Your FLHS or FLGS (Friendly Local Hobby Shop or Friendly Local Game Shop) can get them for you, or try www.abebooks.com, or order direct from Osprey...

........or just go to your local "Barnes & Noble". They can order anything you want. If you don't like it,....simply return it for a full refund,...which some shops won't do. You can also check out their web-site too,..to get ISBN #'s of specific titles you're interested in. Here's their site : http://www.barnesandnoble.com

Fly Models make a 1/100 scale paper model kit of German submarines; it includes both at type viic and and type ix uboat. You could enlarge the bridge portion of one of the boats from the kit (via a photocopier) and as much of the deck and hull as you want and either use them as patterns for scratchbuilding your u-boat bridge or just build it from paper and paint it. Don't be fooled by the name 'paper model'...I've built a couple of paper models now and they can be made into surprisingly nice models.

Using a paper model as the base for scratch building really reduces the work load, as all the tedious measuring and scaling is already done for you. The kit costs around $15 or so.
