I almost had a heart attack when I was thumbing though the latest MotorMint catalog when they showed a metal diecast 1:18 P51B fighter with working landing gear, attachable ordinance ect priced around $80.00 I went to the MM site to pick up a link to post here, but I couldnt find it on their site. I pulled the catalog out and looked more closely and they gave a size of 11"-definitly not 1:18. Would it be 1:32 or 1:48? I guess it is a typo on their part. Close, but no cigar...

I can tell you personally that the B Mustang is on the shorter list of major considerations for 21st... That really shouldn't shock any of us. The B model is awesome and I think as 21st moves through some of the other projects we will very likely see something in the future.
The D model is the slam dunk no-brainer for main stream sales. So it is more than obvious as to why they re-tooled the outdated mold first.
And I agree with Ski- that Shangri-La would be top of the list!

That's right, Don is a hometown boy (Piqua is just north of Dayton) and a personal hero of mine. I was excited when they came out with the Donnie Boy Razor back. If they come out with a B model P-51 and did Shang-ri-la, I would be extatic. Then, all 21st would have to do is a Spitfire repaint of his Eagle Sqd livery, Buckeye Don, and it would be a perfect set up for this noted ace. Okay, I am done getting carried away for a while.

Conversion
So how difficult can it be to convert a BBI P-51D to a C model? Of course there's the canopy and raising the rear deck. Some C models had vertical fin extension. Change from six .50's to four. Remove the wingtip lights and put the landing light in the left wing leading edge. None of this sounds too complicated....any takers? I need detailed photos of the aft bay bulkhead (rear cockpit bulkhead), but I already have panel line drawings for exterior details. Now who's game.....?
