Modern British Troops & WIP vehicles........

Post by steelbonnet » Wed Feb 22, 2006 6:28 am

Hi there,

Well things never go smoothly with time. As many here will know, family probs, probs with the house & just lack of time in general.

Anyway here`s what i`ve done so far :D

Temperate DPM British troops.
Here we have 2 XD Royal Marines (need to switch one of the heads). I`ve added Black to the DPM to make it more accurate.

Here`s the XD backpacks with added Black

Next we have some of my troops, using Eversparkle & Joes

Next we have some weapons. These are Powerteam SA80s. The SA80 UGLs are made using rear section of the PTE SA80 & Fore of a Hasbro G36 GL version.

Next we have a photo showing varying DPM camo. Anyone serving, has served in or along side will now british Army DPM comes in a vary of shades.

Next to the Scimitar CVRT.

Lastly a Quick HOW TO On DPM Camo (for those who may want to try it).
Varying shades of green can be used here.Really light green is great for tropical DPM BTW. To the darker greens as used in Europe.
I`ve just for this used a Eversparkle figure. Used his Green as the base for the DPM.

First off we add the earth splotches
Image

Next we add Brown/Khaki to the DPM camo.

Finally with the Black added.

There you go. Hope that helps :D

Lastly here`s the difference between an XD RM backpack with black added to camo to one straight from package.

Well there you have it so far with My Modern British Lot.
The first WMIK will be done over the weekend if NOTHING crops up & I`ll post photos of that done.

Well Please do leave feedback & your thoughts :D

Thank`s

Wow man - now I know where all that time has gone!! The hand-made weapons sure are impressive.

Good to see you landed some XD Brit Marines - imo that is one of the best 1:18 head sculpts. :D I now plan to stain his jacket and pack as you did....it is neon as it stands now. Very nice work (and photos). :P

Thank`s a LOT guys, thank`s Very much for the very kind words :D

Digger,
Well thank`s mate & Yes adding the Black to the XD RM does make the difference on the DPM. Surprised they missed that.
Easy enough to rectifie though :D Still wouldn`t say NO to more RMs though & Yes His headsculpt is One of the Best i`ve seen too :D

Aferg,
Damn I wish I did have a Challenger II (will be once I get a BBI M1 to convert & use PTE M1s as the US M1 if that makes sense...lol As the chall2 is Bigger than the M1).

Lsc1002,
Thank`s very much mate & yes a fair few lines used here though i think that`s the secret when doing units of men in the same camo. At least the body sizes then look different & Not 100% cloned.

Takes some time doing so many in camo though....LOL

I`m also working on a Warrior IFV too :D Though long way to go there :(
Looking forward to having the WMIK Landie finished over the weekend & showing you it combat ready & Manned :D It`s going to be in green, the 2nd one when done will be in desert colours :D

Again thank`s very much guys :D

You have a nice collection there. Your painting method looks great! Keep up the good work. :D
