Just wanted to share this postcard showing a Corsair over Akron, Ohio (my birthplace) A significant amount of the -1A's and -1D's were made by Goodyear in Akron, and were designated FG-1A and FG-1D.

I used to stand on the little rise above the 'AKRON' letters and watch the airplanes fly in and out of Akron Municipal Airport, which was the former post-war Akron Naval Air Station and where Goodyear made the Corsairs. Also home of the 'airdock', one of the still existing (huge) dirigible hangers from the '30s.
