The gun sheilds and M-60s are actually from Verlinden's 120mm line. They're out of production, but my local hobby shop was able to find me a set.
(Verlinden actually did a 120mm M113. I think it was about $400. I wish 21C had used it as a basis for theirs instead of the Tamiya kit)
Actually the side sheilds wouldn't be hard to make, but the CDR's shield would be a pain.
One neat thing I did was that I set the bases for the two side shields on top of holes from when I pulled the junk off. So then, I drilled straight through the base, attached a short piece of brass rod to the arm, and put a cap on the brass rod underneath, so that the arms actually rotate, like they really should.
Assemby was pretty straightforward otherwise. The CDR's shield needed ALOT of sanding, to get it to fit around the cupola, since the shield is bigger. Some of the "feet" of the shield don't quite fit the notches on the cupola. Also, the forward "horns" of the gun shield needed to be sanded back to fit the .50 cal gun mount..
Also, Verlinden includes ZERO instructions on how to assemble everything, so alot of it is based on looking at as many different pictures as possible.
There were some "in progress" shots in an earlier thread, but I'll re-post them tonight.
