Is bbi products more detailed ?
Is bbi products more detailed ?
Hi I just got my bbi zero(green) and I was amazed at the details . I only got a winter stuka to compare with but it still outclasses it so much that Ive started to wonder if it outclasses newer 21st planes too . So Ive have to ask you guys with a lot of 1:18 stuff from both companys if there is a noticable diffrence in detail in other veichles/planes ? . Im asking this because in thinking of buying a p-51 and a Corsair
I also have a bbi sherman and even that looks a little better than most of the 21stc tanks .

You need to take a look at the 21st Century F-104 starfigter. Not just a photograph... you need to hold one in your hand. This is the best looking
& most detailed 1:18 plane to date in my opinion.
As Corsairs go... bbi has the lead for detail and features.
As Mustangs go... bbi has the lead for detail and features.... but 21st is just about to release their new Mustang and if its anything like the F-104 it's going to be the winner.

One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!
IMOH 21st's Tiger, Hanomag and Halftrack (for armor anyways) put BBI's Sherman to shame. I'll wait and see if BBI "throws down the gauntlet" to 21st in armor like they did with the P51. Nobody would be happier if they did....
I have all those veichles and I think the bbi sherman looks a little better . But the halftrack is pretty close , thats why i bought it with the bbi sherman :)

It all kind of depends... BBI has their aircraft (all of which are very well detailed), but then 21c has theirs. BBI armor, with the exception of the Sherman, has been a little behind 21c, however, in terms of overall detail, interiors, etc. The figures are perhaps evenly matched as well. BBI has the best Modern figures and the best WWII US Infantry figures, but 21c has the well executed Marines, Japanese, and Germans.

Yes, BBI's aircraft have better details than the current 21c models. I have the 21c F-104 and it is better than earlier 21c planes, but not to the level of detail of BBI. However, 21c is introducing it's first responses to the BBI competition. The new 21c Mustang should be at least as good as the BBI if not better in some areas than the BBI. The 21c Avenger should be the best 1/18 scale prop aircraft to date regardless of manufacturer.
Competition from BBI has vastly improved the details of 21c. Any future releases should continue to improve on the already excellent details from both companies. If you are considering buying one of the currently released 21c planes they are all about the same level of detail as the Stuka except for the current P-51 which is very poor in comparison to the BBI.

bbi's F-18 Hornet "Marauder" (with folded wing tips) and bbi's Blackhawk helo (fully loaded with a 6 man SEAL Team and 3 crew members) cause the biggest stir in my collection. 21st Century's "Snake" Cobra helo is third and the "Stal" bf-109G-6 is fourth. This will of course change when I display the TBM Avenger in Pacific tri-colors with folded wings on the shelf. Those folded wings are conversation magnets. Needless to say, the 21st Century 2nd issue "Kepford" corsair rounds out the top five. With the forthcoming Avenger's position guaranteed in the top six, its 4 to 2 in favor of 21st Century, but the "gold and silver" go to bbi....however, the Avenger is at the gate.
