Check your TRU for marked down Apaches...
After much waiting, the BBI 1:18 Apaches at my local TRU were finally marked down to $39.98 ( from $59.98 ) !!!
This didn't appear to be a clearance or special mark down (no green or red/orange tags), just a new lower price (similar to how the BBI Abrams has been permanently reduced from $49.98 to $39.98 ).
I know more than a few of us were waiting for just a little more incentive to get this fine bird, and this did it for me!

"LOU" Closeout

Saw this closeout while surfing. $14 for NIB 21C 1/18 "LOU" P-51. Ships USPS from San Jose California. Never used this dealer. $14 sounds pretty good!

NE Recon (Md/Va)
Heads up, if anyone is fortunate enough to have old 21st stock (minus the M41 which is still marked full price) TRU is now offering 70% green tag. I picked up the remaining Command Cars, and what a/c I could find on Saturday. The BBI Helo's are still scanning at full price, but was told by a gentleman working in the toy dept. "those are going on clearance as we need shelf space", so I'll be checking back every few days between now and Christmas.

Bbi P-51 Find(s)
On last minute xmas shopping and recon for new FOV pieces, I spied (and purchased several) the Bbi P-51 at various TRU stores in my AO. In particular the Frederick Md TRU (left 2 on shelf) Gaithersburg Md. TRU (also left two on shelf) and Rockville Md. (3 remaining).
I must say I'm very impressed, even more so than with 21st's offerings, in particular the "fit and finish". The weathering is superb as is the detail, and for the price $39.00, an OUTSTANDING bargain.

Suprise, Suprise, I too was on a late night shopping expedition and to my suprise a BBi P-51 on the shelf at the Lakeline TRU Austin (the only one and now it is here with me and I am impressed) also picked up the 1/32 FOV TOW launcher(nice-although a couple of missiles would have been nice). Then I decided to try my luck at WM and found a P-47 Bubble top (Eagleston) as well as a FW 190 with paint that I haven't seen. Similar to black chevron but no chevron and had yellow rudder. Both of these were in original XD boxes. This was a real suprise since we have been pretty dry around here for quite a while.

That FW-190D with the yellow tail must be the new one! They are also in stock at BCA, and probably soon at the other small retailers. Did it look like this (see link)?

Back on topic, the TRU in Fresno, Ca. didn't have much of a selection. There were only two BBI Apaches (full price) and an assortment of the new Marine and Army Beret figures. There was a new FOV AAVP vehicle. It seems to have alot of opening doors and hatches, but doesn't come with many accessories and has a rather drab desert paintjob.
