I was looking at the XD web page and there is a tan Kubelwagon with a roof on there. I never seen one and was wondering what is the history of this toy, when was it released, was there a limited distribution? Does anyone have one of these vehicles? Thanks

I dont remember exact details but I beleive we had discussion about this before and it was shown at a toy fair awhile back but never materialized

was probably a prototype. Anybody else remember the deal on this one?

That's right. Never made it to production. Maybe one day with my DAK figures.
What?

Started out in Air Defense Artillery but the Ordnance Corps sucked us up.
Made the CW5 list in 2005 but decided to retire this year instead. Time to hang up the boots and let the family settle down

Digger is right,....but subsequently after the initial release of the 1:18 "original",..was slated to be 1/6,..but never made it into production. .....Perhaps now,..with "NEW" vehicles popping up,...they may actually do this one in 1:18,..instead. Considering their 1/6 line sits on Wal-Mart shelves,.. only to be put on "clearance".

Perhaps - this will be the next vehicle everybody has been hearing about -
It could have been redone in order to fit a figure in the seat with the top up.

Now that would be something to see.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

Sorry, a few of us "metal heads" are poised to consume mass quantities of Kublewagons and Jeeps when they are reissued. You know who you are!
