POST M113 APC SIGHTINGS AND DISCUSSION HERE!
Found green APCs in Ohio...
Being on call in the hospital on a Sunday is no fun...but my day brightened considerably when I got a call from my wonderful wife who was bored and decided to make a toy run to Walmart/Target for me looking for some of the new Joes.
Her: "Honey, I found some of those tanks you were looking for."
Me: "The APCs? Awesome! Buy them!"
Her: "I think so, but these are green...not like the tan ones you showed me on the net."
Me: "Yup, that's just another paint variant. Buy them!"
Her: "Ok...but I don't like the figures...their faces make them look retarded!"
Even my wife doesn't seem to like these APC drivers. Heheh. Anyways, the green APCs are out and about. Good hunting, everyone!

That's a fine woman you have for a wife, Warthog....very discriminating taste too.
BTW....when is spoke to Roy Sutherland i asked him why the modern figures were so cruddy, both vehicles and carded and he said they were gong to get a lot better. Didn't really give me an answer as to why they were cruddy in the first place though....
The dilema i now face is this: I like the 3 colour NATO scheme the best of the three paint versions but it is the least useful of the vehicles. The green i can make into a Vietnam version and the tan is for OIC. But the NATO one didn't really see any meaningful action. But it looks so good....

The Green M113 just showed up in Delaware. The Camden store in Dover got about 8 of them at full price. You ain't wistlin' dixie about the figures, boy they SUCK! They look straight from the Dollar Tree. Thank god the vehicle is about on par, if expensive at $40......

Received my APCs in the mail today (Thanks Magilla1973). The APC itself
is nicely done (however a little flimsy in some areas), but as noted before,
the figures are the worst ever. I dont ever remember seeing a figure this bad froom any company (even at the dollar store:-) The plastic green accessories such as the duffle bags and tarps will absolutely need to be painted. The shiny green plastic isnt cutting it. Some of the plastic on the APC itself is delicate and can easily break. I dont see this piece lasting very long if a child was to actually play with it. All that being said, I'm still
happy 21st gave it an effort, I dont think any other company would have.
M113's have been serving our Army for a long time and deserve to be immortalized in 1:18 scale!

Yup
Agreed with all the above and that's why I'm still gonna buy a bunch.
But it is falling apart on me, literally at the seams.
The gear maybe oversized too, and worth removing altogether - look at the helmets!

While visiting with my parents Sunday, I asked them to keep on eye out for the M113 at Walmart. They were there today at the Walmart were we found the $7.00 Tigers last month and they found the tan M113 FOR $5.00. They picked up two, one for Dad and one for me. They rang up at full price but the lady from toys verified the price on the shelf was $5 and they let them have them for that.

Hey a local!! I live up in Caroline county but work at the DSCR off I95 in Richmond. I couldn't find any of the APC's in Colonial Heights, Chester or in my area. But I went out on the look last week.
If you go over again please let me know if you come across anything if you wouldn't mind. Please shoot me an email: craftsc@wwlnk.net.
I've been trying to get my hands on the green color scheme M113 but no luck on either color.
Good to have local in the community![/b]

T-day
Using my day off to play with toys, I opened my OD M113. I like this paint scheme a lot, perhaps the best now that I have it in hand. I swapped some gear with the modern one and they both look much better. Each is has it's production flaws, all which have been mentioned here. It's still damn cool.
Question - has anyone noticed some of the gear is hard to remove from the OD version? It almost feels glued, and I don't want to break the pegs or scratch the paint by prying. Suggestions?

Same
Everything is the same except the stowage and gear is all tan on the OD version, and if you switch the gear with the OIF version they both look better. Some of the gear needs to be left off altogether though imo...

Hi,
Anyone needs them, the Trexlertown PA Walmart had three or four green ones on Friday morning, and they were on the top shelf so I doubt anyone bought them

Finally found an M113
Got to come home for the weekend and after searching all the Fresno, Ca. area Wal Marts (there are four), I finally found one, tan XD M113! Its box was practically in shreds, but the vehicle was unharmed. Standing there in the isle, I debated as to whether or not I wanted the vehicle in the first place, then I noticed the price tag - $10! Needless to say, I've got the M113 now and its worth every cent of those $10!
The included figures are crap - they can't even be made to sit properly in the vehicle! The baggage is a nice addition, but could have been moulded a little better. Overall, however, it is a very functional piece with plenty of working features and a full interior. These features, I feel, put most 21st armored vehicles in a class of their own. My M113 is now filled with BBI Army Desert Ops figures they look great with the vehicle! Thankgoodness there are some decent modern figures. The BBI figures fit in the crew stations and the troop compartment can easily hold 6-8 figures with equipment. Other opinions considered, I'm just glad to see 21st put out some new armor! Now for the Panzer IV!

For those boardmembers lacking info (or beforehand knowelege) on the M113 series of vehicles, here is a little website I found that gives a pretty good overview and also includes some good pictures and great schematics. The 21st version is rather accurate. Have a look!
