There are still a few who haven't heard of 21st, let alone FOV and BBI.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
No Razor its true, I was at a model show (competition and sale) in November and picked
up a 1:18 21st 251. While looking around a vendor asked what I had...so I showed him a
new in box tan and green Series 4 - Sd. Kfz. 251/1 Hanomag. "never seen one of those"
Told him about the aircraft and figures...didn't ring a bell with him.
Anyhow I'm looking forward to seeing these Marauder WWII figures.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
I did the Kickstarter for the modern figure several years ago Marauder did. It was his first one and it took a LOOOOOG time to actually get by figure. But I ended up paying total 20 bucks. for it. I was happy when I got it.normandy wrote:No Razor its true, I was at a model show (competition and sale) in November and picked

This design with the 3d printing is a totally different look. I would like to see an actual figure, instead of the digital image.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
I'm checking Kickstarter every day to see if the campaign has started. I was really tempted to get into that Old West / Cowboy series, but if the WWII levels are as inclusive as the sculpts are looking, I''m glad I waited.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
Yeah everybody should definitely go check it out! Really good looking stuff in the KS. Many of the figs are conceptually a repeat of old 21C or BBI stuff, but these will be as good or better and easily customizable.
Plus if they keep hitting the stretch goals, we'll see stuff that's never been done before (Navy Corpsman, Russians, Brits, Desert SAS, Bren gun, etc.).

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
Amazing stuff. I put my order in. I hope that the stretch goals are simply future releases. They are too good to not do in some form!
I wish they had put the British, German variants or the Russians ahead of the Japanese since we already have those from 21C. That being said, their Japanese soldiers and especially the gear look outstanding enough to put them above the 21C releases.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
They are at 93k which is over their goal of 64k at the moment. So these stretch goals have been unlocked:
- US Marine Flamethrower Soldier
- Japanese Army Type 99 Machine Gunner
- US Navy FMF Corpsman
Some interesting future unlocks that would give us army builders:
German Rifleman - $111,500
British Rifleman (Pants) - $234,000
Russian Rifleman - $272,000
German Rifleman DAK - $329,000
British Rifleman (Shorts) - $357,500
German Paras - $415,000
US Paras - $444,000

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
It sounds like there will be painted and unpainted figures at some point. The paint master is generally the item painted by the original designers. They send it to the factory to show them how actual figures should look.normandy wrote:? Paint master.... that's the way the production figure will look?
The 21st Century Toys paint masters that I have seen in person looked just a bit better than the production line. Typically because vehicle markings were decals, not Tampo printed and the paint was hand airbrushed with weathering vs factory. Still pretty close.
From what I've been able to find online, other Marauder Task Force figure paint jobs seem to come out pretty well from the factory.
Also, they hit 109k this morning so it looks like we'll see some German infantry at launch.
Here is a good review of their Valkyries line which look amazing.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
Thanks Grunt, I just thought the dark pants were an odd choice for the German infantry figure.

These figures do look good and it seems they got the helmet to scale with this German infantryman.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
Very impressed with their quality and variety. I hope this gets funded enough to get up to the cool unlocks. I don't like the way they use different color figure as a unlock.grunt1 wrote:They are at 93k which is over their goal of 64k at the moment. So these stretch goals have been unlocked:

Hmm.. yeah unless they were going for Luftwaffe which I doubt. Sorry for the paint master 101, I mis-interpreted your question.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
Mudhen you did it!
German infantry unlocked!
Razor I agree. There must be some basis for the idea of green army men as an option. They could be there to slow down the path to the British unlocks which still appear to be drawings not 3D renders or prototypes at this point.
Do some of the weapons seem small-ish to anyone else?

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
They do appear off to me as well, very reminiscent of the Bravo Team weapons in comparison to 21st. The early war German uniform and harness is an odd choice as well, especially given their late war weapons. Has anyone repainted their figures before? If it takes paint well I'd love to whip up some splinter.
I assume the re-paints are there simply to reuse existing models rather than needing to actually pony up cash to make new molds. I personally don't see anyone army building a bunch of army green and tan Devil Dogs and Japs, but hey I'm sure they know their market.
I've been burned by pre-orders and kickstarters before (Looking at you Aliens products...) but I may get involved in this one. Those Russians are so close, yet so far way.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
Pledged myself, cant wait ...but like some folks mentioned I don't understand the strategy of putting the blank figures ahead of the more interesting unlocks. Need those German and American paratroopers, I would have assumed those would have been up front.
Either way, looking forward to this!

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
On the solids, they're obviously far cheaper... as far as who is buying them, who knows. There were some guys on FB asking for "green army men" type things, others wanting colors for throwback Cobra Troopers or whatnot.
As far as painting, Marauder stuff is like any other toy/action figure. acrylic paints are fine, enamels are not and react with the plastic.

The Aliens v Predator Board Game by Prodos was/is an absolute disaster, and the last game I preordered was Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
German Officer unlocked.. Seems like he should have a map, binoculars, cases, etc. Compared to the infantry he is really low on accessories.
