Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
Marauder just posted the first image of the 3D sculpt for one of the figures planned for their WWII figure Kickstarter campaign, which launches early Feb. I know there was a thread in here somewhere that mentioned this, but I didn't see one that was specifically about it. If so mods, I guess you can merge them.
http://cobraisland.com/marauder-task-fo ... -revealed/
"Here are some 3d sculpt illustrations for the Marauder Task Force WWII US Army Soldier. Figure is shown with just a sampling of the MODULAR gear getting released with the figure. Removable web-belt, Y-harness and backpack have modular mounting points, so the final gear “load-out” is up to you! Several countries involved in the conflict are planned for our MTF WWII Kickstarter event, with SEVERAL different styles of soldiers from each of those different armies. Also, most of the weapons used in WWII are in our event! We will unveil several more sculpts leading up to the early February Kickstarter launch…maybe even show some paint masters! Hope you like what is on the way!"
They say that "several" countries involved in the war will have "several" featured figures, and that's pretty exciting.

Looks outstanding. Will these be painted or unpainted?

They’ll be both cast in colored plastic and painted. They’ll be finished action figures similar to GIJoes.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
Here is a link to an eBay auction for one of Marauder’s current modern style figures. This is how their WWII figures are likely to be sold, as well. A base body with a head or two, and various pieces of modular equipment that will allow for a variety of load-outs to make a variety of soldiers. Pretty cool, I think.

The figures are cheaper on the actual website, depending on load out. I think mine ran between 13 to 25, 13 for bare bones.

Yeah, I just grabbed a quick link that had a decent picture of some of their load out options. They're much cheaper from Marauder's page and via the Kickstarter.normandy wrote:Its very cool but at $32.00 a figureI wish them well.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
That also appears to be a sold out figure so perhaps some of the price is a premium for that aspect. Getting in on the kickstarter is typically the most economical way to go. Hopefully they will be in the range that snake mentioned. That seems to be the going rate even for 21C figures which range $10-35 these days. Tough to get under $10 without going Hasbro-scale.
Have they ever done army builder pricing? Maybe that would help.
I'm excited and can't wait to see the other sculpts!

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
Okay, going to fanboy out just a little.
I adore my MTF figures. They're almost a blank canvas upon which to create characters, specializations, and fill in those niches in a display.
The articulation is excellent, and the figures are pretty durable. I've only had an issue with one, and Marauder quickly sent me 2 replacement parts and an accessory for my trouble free of charge.
If you've never browsed their offerings, many of the weapons are simply amazing, with folding stocks, modular load outs, and what have you.
Holsters and the like on the MTF figures are likely best glued in if you plan on handling them (i.e. playing with them) quite a lot.
The accessories really are amazing- most of my helicopter pilots are wearing:
https://www.marauderinc.com/product-p/mtf-b3220.htm with an attached mic and insertable, moving goggles.
As for pricing:
https://www.marauderinc.com/product-p/mtf-g3002.htm is your basic modern urban figure for 12.99 in grey camo.
https://www.marauderinc.com/product-p/mtf-g3702.htm is the same base figure with a small truckload of gear (yes, many, many, many tiny pieces) that are at a collective discount- all loaded up he's 25.
Chances are good the Kickstarter will likely have some squad discounts like MTF and MTF Valkyries before it.
I'm watching this Kickstarter with extreme interest, if for no other reason that the plastic quality, articulation, and over-all modularity of the pieces make this really attractive.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
This is currently the only photo I can find online, but here is a Facebook link to the first pic of one of the German soldier figures. Unfortunately, that helmet is far too big it seems. It looks more along the lines of the M18 from WWI. Maybe someone has been playing too much Battlefield 1.

Here is another link... https://www.facebook.com/Marauder-Gun-R ... 310343512/
The helmet is way to big, looks like a 1:16 on a 1:18 figure
.
It does look promising.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
Its great to see a company trying to make an attempt at producing such a highly detailed figure from this era. American at that! I have been wanting WWII era figures with GI JOE type articulation and realism for years. Such an effort makes me sooo reluctant to provide any type of criticism even if I feel its positive...but looking at the image, the helmet looks more Soviet then American. I hope they retool it, since it shows so much promise!

Seeing that they sell stuff piecemeal, I think a do-over is called for...

" Marauder "Gun-Runners" Almon is right! It is tricky when you look at 3d prototype sculpt illustrations, also LOTS has happened in the sculpting process since these first images. We will post the actual tooling prototypes soon, so that will help put to rest any helmet questions. "

" Here are some 3d sculpt illustrations for the Marauder Task Force WWII US Marine. The Devil Dog is geared up with a Flame Thrower...but you might notice there are BAR ammo pouches on his web belt. Just a "hint" about SOME of the OTHER accessories & gear planned for the figure. Paint masters are not quite complete yet, so we are looking to launch the MTF WWII Kickstarter event sometime during the week of February 12th. Hope you like what is on the way! "

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
Loving following this along on Facebook... 1/18 has life! I'd considered selling my 1/18 stuff off for the most part and just collecting 1/16 tanks. Now? I'm back to keeping it all except some of the air war stuff.
These look fantastic and Marauder does great stuff. They're not cheap but if you're up on the industry, toys simply aren't "cheap" any longer. This'll be my 2nd Kickstarter I support. I supported Dime Novel Legends and their western themed toy line because it's just awesome, and now I'm definitely helping Marauder along and getting at least a set of figures.
They're not for the casual walmart shopper but good toys cheap just don't exist now.

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter
First unexpected 1:18 I've seen in a long time. (on another forum someone stated 'these are the first Japanese 1:18 WW2 figures" - then the reply was a photo of a carded 21st - has it really been so long that these are now forgotten?)
