Some of these bogus Chinese merchants are on ebay and Amazon.

That’s really weird...

It hasn’t happened to me or anyone I know, but I did have a recent experience on eBay where a Chinese seller I purchased an item from turned out to be fraudulent. Luckily eBay handled everything and I didn’t loose any money!

TMANTHEGREAT:

Earlier this year I bought an item at a good price from a new Amazon merchant. The item was delivered to Puerto Rico, but I live in Texas. I contacted the merchant and got no reply. I looked at the merchant's new customer feedback and other customers reported the same problem, so Amazon refunded my money.
I was watching some expensive NECA figures that normally sell for over $100. However, on ebay, these same NECA figures were Buy It Now for $16 including free shipping from new sellers in China.
Almost certainly these figures are being sent to a prearreanged address like in the article and/or they are bootleg figures.

Yeah, in my case it was a new Chinese seller that was selling an XD P-47 Bubbletop (Eagleston version) for like $25. The same thing frequently goes for $100-$150 from US sellers so I acted a little more quickly than I should have and bought the item. I have bought things from other Chinese sellers many times with no issues, Sonia figured things would be ok in this case... However when I asked about a tracking number and shipping confirmation, the seller basically told me (rather condescendingly) that because I was getting the item so cheap they couldn’t provide a tracking number and to just contact them for the shipping status. When I contacted them after a week, they replied with the exact same message. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait it out a month to see if anything came, figuringni could simply open a case with eBay or st worst just loose $25... Naturally, nothing came and the seller appeared to have canceled their eBay account. At that point, I opened a case with eBay that was decided in my favor within hours and I lost no money.

Be careful what you order out of China!!

TMANTHEGREAT:

Here are the bids for two items being sold by the same ebay seller. I posted this elsewhere and wanted your opinion.
