Bandai Space Battleship Yamato Mechanic File Listed

Post by gavman » Sun Jan 15, 2006 5:04 pm

I've listed the Bandai Space Battleship Yamato Mechanic File at Yahoo! Auctions. This ship is more of a modular model than the comparable Takara 1:700 Scale Cross-Sectional IJN Yamato-Class Battleships, as the sections are NOT true transverse or longitudinal cuts. Based on the Space Battleship Yamato (AKA Space Cruiser Yamato or Star Blazers) anime series, this plastic model in an unspecified scale is comprised of eight sections packaged in the Japanese Candy Toy-format that ship in an 8-piece Display Case Box utilizing a 2 x 4-matrix. Each sealed Unit Box is marked to indicate which particular section is contained inside. While this model is ready-made, being mostly pre-painted and pre-assembled, it is NOT finished, and requires minor assembly of pre-painted detail parts that will need to be cut loose from a runner.

Like the Takara Cross-Sectional Yamatos, the Bandai Space Battleship Yamato has cutaway features, wherein the hull can be removed from the entire port-side of the vessel. Also, the ship has hinged wings that can be deployed. There are a total of 14 fighter planes included with this model, and they are distributed as follows: a) 2 x Section 4; b) 2 x Section 5; and c) 10 x Section 7.

Originally intended to be sold like trading cards in Japanese convenience stores, these Trading Miniatures do NOT come packed in a plastic shipping cradle and lid, rather, they are protected inside their unit boxes by being sealed in plastic bags. The display case box of this model has been OPENED to ensure that all eight sections of the ship are inside, otherwise, the unit boxes themselves still have their original factory seals.

My packing philosophy is to surround the items that I'm shipping with at least two (2) inches of void fill (packing peanuts) so as to minimize the potential for crush/penetration damage while in transit. Acceptable forms of payment include PayPal, Cashiers Checks, and Money Orders. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail WITHOUT Insurance for a flat rate of $12.00.

Whereas my Yahoo! Auction listing has a Starting Price of $44.00 and is capped at a Buy Price of $48.00, if you wish to forgo the bidding process and contact me directly via PM about this model, your price will be $44.00. If you do contact me via PM on this forum, please let me know your delivery address and how you intend to make payment. I do have multiples of this model available, however, my rating at Yahoo! Auctions is not yet high enough for me to run Dutch Auctions for multiple quantities of the same item.

The Bandai model is roughly the size of the Takara 1:700 scale cross-sectional Yamatos, making it about 14 inches long, fully assembled.
