I made some Sherman tank towing shackles or clevis hooks on request from some folks in the 1:16th crowd. It was a surprise to me that the various Shermans from Heng Long, etc didn't come with them by default. They also indicated that even if they had shackles that they were likely to be ripped off when driving the tanks around so spares were useful.

Anyway, I was looking at my 1:18 tanks from FoV, 21C and BBI. None of them came with shackles either. Is it worth making these in 18 scale?
If so, would option would you want:
A> drill holes in my tank and use working shackles you could attach with machine screws
B> don't drill holes in my tank and use "mock" ones that would just slip on and look proper
Also, would the style above work or would a different style be more appropriate?
I only did the horse-shoe version so far which I am calling "Style I" (left).
