ohhhhh I was wondering IF 21st would ever do open backs/open tops.
Well answers the question with these 2 photos
Gotta say though the Soft top is the one i hope to see in my collection later in the year
Though NO figures is a GREAT shame. That Modern Desert US would have been a great figure to include with these Humvee`s
Still gotta love they finally brought out none Turtle shell varients
So that`s XD & PTE now

Ah, I remember seeing these in someone's photos of a 21st C catalog. Cool to see they actually got released! Man there sure has been a lot of figs and armor hitting shelves recently

There has to be some kind of dye someone can use to fix the sheene to the fabric. Altogether, it is very cool news.

very cool Compfire, thanks for sharing the info. Fabric will need some type of treatment (customizers...help!) but I'm all for new vehicles

Very Cool!!! Can't wait to find these and the new weapons carrier.
Compfire,
Is the soft top removable or non-removable?
Thanks.

I believe it is removable. I didn't total take it off, but I was able to easily undo part of it.

For those that don't know. The fabric on modern trucks hasn't been canvas for many years. The tops are a synthetic (plastic) that is almost indistructable.
The color varies from OD to black. 21C has obviously tried to copy the look but the actual covers are flat color, no scheen to it.
I have used canvas tops and to be maintained they have to be treated every year with a preservative. I have had a synthetic cab cover on my M-37's for over 25 years (gone through two trucks and the top still perfect). Top gets dirty but it sits in the weather all year long. Cavas topped vehicles must be garaged.
21C looks good with these three 1/18 trucks.

Those new Hummers look great! Per the Wal Mart finds thread, they are being found in my state, so I'll have to go scout them out. They weren't in the 3 stores I checked across So. Cal. this weekend, however. That soft-top Hummer looks great and glad to see they used what looks like real cloth!

yea, these are nice.
What is with these coming out with no figures?? also the Dodge trucks, no driver
How is the price, does it reflect no driver?
I could easily buy the first release humvee and cut the back off, also getting a figure with 1 m16a4 and 3 m16a2's.

I saw all 3 tonight, and picked the weapons truck up. I'm bummed about the lack of figures too, and for $22.76 I really would have liked any kind of repainted/packaged figure for that.
The top on the Humvee doesn't look that shiney in person btw, It hink it's the camera more. It looked much more realistic. I almost bought it but have to maintain self control and not buy modern stuff unless it's figures.
The WW2 truck is very nice though. Love the muddy windshield.
