Photobucket - is there an easier way?

Post by tpa05 » Mon Jan 09, 2017 12:21 am

Hey guys,

Just want to post some pics both of some figures/vehicles I've been working on as well as some I'd like to post in the Buy/Sell section. I've been posting (trying to anyway) and at 2:19 AM in the morning am about fed up. With all the pop-ups, advertising and the endless freezing I've got to believe there's an easier way. Any suggestions?

John

I feel your pain with Photobucket... I've had an account there for over 10 years, but recently, the website has become almost unusable being slow to load with tons of pop-ups. It is slow no matter what computer I use.

That said, over the past few months, I have been using Postimage.org to post photos: https://postimage.org/

The system is free and relatively easy to use. Unfortunately, with the free version you can only upload one photo at a time, but if you are not uploading dozens of pictures, that aspect isn't too much of a problem. The other catch is that once a photo is uploaded, you need to copy the "Direct Link" option and paste it on the forum between the Img codes to display a photo larger than a thumbnail picture. These codes are accessed on SSHQ by pressing the "Img" button in the menu when you are typing a post and copying the Direct Link from Postimage.org between the Img codes.

Give Postimage.org a try... Hope this helps :D

Tman as always thank you for your help. I've already told myself to make time this weekend to testdrive the new website as earlier tonight I was at wit's end once again having to walk away from the keyboard once it got hung up (again, and again....).

Tman to the rescue once again. Thanks!

Popup blocker seems to keep Photobucket in line like it was PB of old too. But yeah, I'm with Grunt, imgur is the boobies.
