Soviet Fighter

Post by krieglok » Sat Sep 19, 2015 6:28 am

I just picked up a Mig-21 in Russian/Soviet markings. It is interesting that there are so many Soviet designed aircraft diecast models out there, but not too many in Russian/Soviet markings. It took me a while to find this one as a reasonable price...

that's the HM that came out a couple of months ago. I have one of the N Vietnamese Mig 21's and it's a nice model. Have been debating about getting this one.

I didn't know it was new. I thought it was an old release which just was becoming scarce. It has a nice tone to the silver paint. I like it more than my NV Mig. I am just getting into the realm of jet collecting....

Nice Russian Mig 21 you have there. I only have a couple of diecast Sukhoi 27 jets and below is one of them:

ah.........a Mig 21 in Soviet markings was released before by HM, but they made another recently. You must have purchased the first one then. That's probably why you got the one you did at a decent price, because there is a new one now.

Nice pickup kreiglok. 8)

I am also surprised at the lack of Soviet aircraft, in Soviet markings. :?:

While it is great to have the "satellite" and other countries markings, the lack of USSR markings seems strange. Wish they would do more.

HM even did a Mig 21 in Mongolian Air Force markings.

You can go to hobbymastercollector.com and see all the Russian jets offered by HM.

The modern camo schemes are pretty interesting. I like the look of CNQs S-27. Thanks for posting the pic. Also thanks to Haworth for the links... Nice to see it wasn't just me that was missing the Soviet schemes...
