Exactly! I've never understood the love of the O-ring crotch. That's one thing I never liked on the 'Joes.digger wrote:
The thing I DO NOT ever want to see is a GiJoe/Target line like crotch. To me this is the most toy-like feature on figures. It would be a sad development in the world of realistic figures.

ok,, aggree to disagree
Sorry but I like the O-ring hips on a properly detailed figure,,I mean with the right gear and pistol belt, and the bottom of the fatuige jacket bloused out..I have been adding the GI-joe torso and hips to my custom figures to get the type of articulation I want. The stiff hip figures just do not have the combat or tactical stances I want.
But that is what makes the world go round,,,we can aggree to disagree..

AREA-21 is pleased to announce that the Platton figures will be ALL NEW from the toes of the boots to the tops of their helmets!
...your favorite characters from the film have been faithfully sculpted and reproduced into a 1:18 scale action figure, capturing the likeness of Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, Johnny Depp and others.
The good news doesn't stop there! Each new 1:18 scale PLATOON action figure will feature all new articulation points in the construction. These promise to be the most poseable, highly detailed action figures to have ever been produced by 21st Century Toys.
great news I cant wait to see pics

Platton figures
This is great news for the Nam collectors. Someone track down Brad from the old GP board, he'll go nuts over this announcement.
