ERTL 1ST CAV RECON OH-6

Post by c44 » Tue Apr 07, 2015 7:55 pm

OK, it's totally toyish, but I'm a little tempted...maybe if it were a little cheaper... :)
I almost bought the ERTL Airwolf at KB toys when it came out in the 80's, but I didn't know they made this...I'm not convinced it's truly 1/18, but it might be an interesting curiosity for a general collector...

I had one of those Ertl Littlebirds when I was a kid :D It was a Christmas gift from my grandmother in 1986, I think. I still have it in good, albeit played-with, condition:

Mine is in a civilian scheme with "Seeker" printed on the side. Actually, its pretty close to 1:18 scale as can be seen in the comparison shot with the BBI Littlebird and scale shot with the vintage GI Joe "Lift Ticket" figure. The fuselage of the Ertl Helicopter is entirely diecast with the rotor, tail rotor, tail, landing skids, interior, and windshield being plastic. Its a pretty robust toy all around and mine has held up quite well for nearly 30 years 8)
