Ju 88 and He 111 recovered from Norwegian lake...
A pair of well-preserved Luftwaffe bombers were lifted from the Jonsvatnet lake near Trondheim, Norway, in September, 64 years after they sank through the ice of their temporary winter base. See Aeroplane magazine November 2004 for the full story and spectacular pictures

It will be awesome if they can be restored to flying condition. As the P-38 "Glacier Girl" project demonstrated (that was the P-38 excavated from beneath artic ice and restored), with a little ingenuity and manufacture of replicated parts, anything is possible.

A friend of mine in Norway recalled my interest in WW II equipment and told me about this recently in an e-mail.

That cold water up there really helps preserve stiff!
