But I have a few questions... Did Afrika Korps Panzer IVs (later models) have the schurtzen around the turret? I've seen depictions of them with and without...

Thanks. The Ausf H variant with the extra armor plate was released at the end of the N. African campaign from my understanding.

The H model never saw action in N. Africa. The latest model to see Tunisia was the G model, and being that they were early Gs, they never carried schurzen.
