Finally with much trail and error we now have ballistic glass for the HUMVEE ( faux )

Yes it will be but I put these pics out there because this is the first step for the up graded turrets with glass panels.

They all have that greenish tint to them.

That greenish tint always reminds me of Coke bottle glass.

Here is a list of the new parts that I will be making for the HUMVEE armored upgrade.

New Roof
New doors
New side (armored) panels
Newer style turret with ballistic glass
New left rear side A/C vents
New front shield with glass

Not so much a armor upgrade

Front push bumper
Misc aerials
Rear spare tire if there is interest

Ambulance cover

So a total front to back make over !!

This is what I intend to make but with the later style doors .

Well I got the 1/35 Humvee model kit in from China and have taken a long look at it as well as measure.

It looks like my original turret will not work.

There are too many discrepancies in the measurements as well as the newer turret is asymmetrical.

The 2 front most panels of the turret are different in length as well as the front pintel stiffener ( on the turret floor ) is differently shaped.

Luckily the turret parts are separated so I have taken the parts to Kinkos and have enlarged them to 1/18th scale so now I have template for all of the sides.

That was easy !!!

You guys who are interested in this turret do you want the top panels with the glass cut outs in them ?
