1/18 on TV
Was just watching FNC and a USAA insurance commercial came on and at the end, a little boy was playing with a 21st century 1/18 P-38 next to his veteran grandpa. Cool to see

Re: 1/18 on TV
Greetings
Awhile back I was flipping through channels and flipped through the Lifetime Movie Network. There was a movie on about a lady who was a flight engineer. In her "house" in the flim she had several 1/18 models on display, I remember seeing the Mig-15 on one of the shelves as well as the F-104.
Some of the aircraft also made an appearance in the second "Night At The Museum" movie.
I've also seen several on display at museums.
They did get around.
Corey

In the TV series "Eureka" they had a number of BBI, 21st Century, Admiral planes and helicopters as display models in the background of an office scene during an episode.

I donated quite a few to the Planes of Fame Museum, so they are all over in different displays if anyone ever comes out for a visit.

I did come out for a visit a couple years ago - where were you? I expected to see you out somewhere taking pictures In any event, I was very impressed - not only with the actual collection of vintage planes and the junkyard out back, but the hundreds of scale models all over in the cases at the PoF Museum. I chuckled when I saw the 1:18 21c planes dispersed throughout the various displays and now I know where they came fromp51 wrote:I donated quite a few to the Planes of Fame Museum, so they are all over in different displays if anyone ever comes out for a visit.
The giftshop at the Castle Air Museum at the former Castle AFB in Atwater, CA has a number of older XD planes hanging on the ceiling like the Snake Stuka, Samantha Payton P-38, and others.
As for XD in other media, I want to say there was a 21c 1:18 M-41 that appeared on a shelf in the background of an older Game Stop commercial. I also saw a show once about a company that restores armored vehicles (on the Military Channel, I think) where the company's owner had a couple 21c 1:6 scale M-5 Stuart tanks in his office. There was also some documentary I saw about the Bermuda Triangle on the History Channel once where some "expert" had a 21c "Flight 19" Avenger sitting in the foreground on his desk (the plane was the Lt. Taylor FT-28 model).
Its a shame 21c never advertised themselves better. I want to say they did have one TV spot around 2004 that showed on one channel, but even an add in a model-building magazine or aviation publication would have done wonders for getting out word about their products. I have a couple of their trade show flyers - which are neat - but something like that never made it to the general public...

Post 1/18 models on TV (movies/series/games/other)
Yesterday I watched not such a good movie: The Kingdom (2007): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0431197/
Image
After 20 mins or so I noticed a kid in his room playing with a BBI 1/18 Kiowa SFOR and in the background some more 1/18 heli's.
So please post here if you see some interesting 1/18 models on TV.
