Post by Razor17019 » Tue Dec 13, 2005 10:17 am

Take a look at 21st Century Toys AREA 21 website for the pics:

AREA-21 Fan Club Members, please allow me to introduce to you the proud winners of the limited edition FW-190D-9 aircraft panels. This exclusive set was commissioned from the famous nose-artist / and aviation historian Gary Velasco.
Designed specifically for 21st Century Toys Inc. for use in the “4 for Victory” air combat promotion. Each panel is individually numbered to be part of a set of only 10 panels. The first panels were given to aces “scoring” the highest by purchasing more planes. This air combat promotion produced a total of 4 pilots who achieved “Double Ace” status! The remaining participants were drawn out at random from a large box. Roy Sutherland (master modeler for 21st Century Toys Inc. & Zach Sharples (AREA-21 Fan Club President) did the honors of picking the winning names. 21st Century Toys Inc. and AREA-21 would like to thank each and every fan who supported and participated in this unique promotion. We salute all of our aces for your loyalty and efforts.

The following is a list of all the pilots who were awarded the limited edition FW-190D-9 relic nose art panels. Congratulations!

I received a pleasant surprise  last Thursday from UPS. A "FW-190 Red 3" fuselage panel now has a new home.

Details: I am not sure of the scale of the panel. It looks less than 1:1 but I may be wrong. The paint colors are flat and authentic looking and the countersunk rivet holes are real. It is beautiful. It has an attached hook on the backside for wall display. It also looks like a real bullet was used to make the entry hole in the side of the panel. Looks about the size of a .50 caliber. Perhaps the artist used a Desert Eagle to make the gunfire damage.

Very nice. Definitely a keeper.

Thank you to 21C
One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!

John is correct... the panel is smaller than a true 1:1 scale though it is pretty good sized. The bullet hole is real and is fired from a .45 cal pistol to provide an added look of battle hardened realism.

Each panel is hand numbered as one of ten limited edition. They were custom created specifically for this promotion. Totally Cool!!! I wish I could have participated... Funny- It was the one time that my post as AREA-21 Pres. actually was a hinderance!

Oh well I guess I get other kick backs... (like having already received my finished Avenger!) - ok that was mean! I am just kidding I really don't have one yet.
