hello.
i was digging through some of my older toy magazines and in the apr 2002 issue of lees toy revies i found this 1 page add for 21c stuff.
there were several things on here that i dont remember ever seeing.
these in particular interested me.
there i see the old hayloft playset, but the figure and motorcycle with it i dont recall seeing?
desert camo kublewagon i dont recall and theres a pretty cool looking figure leaning on the door? i also dont remember the covered kublewagon.
and the fireman and cop ive never seen.
does anyone know if any of these items were actually made and how hard they are to find?
thank you.

That's an interesting ad. Never seen that one before. The figure and bike seen with the hayloft were never made as were the covered Kubel and the tan Kubel. I'm not sure about the cop and fireman but I don't think they were ever made as well. I also see a supply tent which would have been a terrific piece to have but that was never made too.

I've never seen any of those things before either. They must be some ideas they didn't follow up on. I like the idea for the cop and firefighter.
I've got a magazine ad (Maybe TOY REVIEW, July '03) that shows a few different paint schemes of the Stuka, ME-262, jeeps, P-51's, and the Viet Nam Patrol boat. It has P-51D "Petie 2nd" release date as 3rd quarter '03. The VN patrol boat 2nd quarter '04. I wonder what happened?

Right, that stuff never came out.
But what is perhaps coolest is the M3 Grant

If you look at the truck it is exactly what we got 3 years later so there is still hope.

Maybe not the M3 but is that an m5 in winter? I also agree the tent would be sweet. Always cool to see what could have been. I wish a company would have faith in the ground guys to make more vehicles, artillery, playsets. I'd even love to see more vehicle & figure combo sets if that's what it takes to get new either.

Interesting stuff, but none of it (in the forms shown) was ever made. It is always fun to hope to see it in the future, but considering the wait for the Avenger which has actually made it to the pre-production stages, it will be a long time before these peices show up - if at all.

Wow, that brought back some (frustrating) memories...
There have been a lot of products that 21st has announced, or produced prototypes of, or otherwise teased us with, that have never been produced. Somewhere there are photos of the LAPD and FD figures on cards. And I thought that one-man hovercraft was interesting, although maybe not marketable. But my favorite is the WWII two story building. The prototype has shown up at nearly every toy show and collector's event for the past three years, and at one point was even listed with a product number, but it's never been made.

wow i would have loved that 2 story building, and the VN diorama stuff.
and i really really like that WWII bridgethat would have looked so cool.
and of course those german figures.what are real good guys without real bad guys.
i remember when 21c's website was first previewing the BOB figures and they kept not being done, so i emailed and they said they had been on standby while they worked on new aircraft so i guess the aircraft are there number one concern.
but i dont collect vehicles i collect figures and enviroments.
the tanks and aircraft are all really cool but i dont know how people have room.

If you're short on room newwavepop, hang the planes or use a bookshelf for the vehicles. Alot of members have submitted pics of their "war rooms". Check out some of their websites.

I vote modern,, which is leading the poll right now. I have been making custom modern troops for quite some time and I would like to see 21st or BBI follow through with their modern lines. like this from c21 a few years ago.

I agree that's what we need - "regulars"
But remember that pic was shown with the other modern figures, and if you have the Royal Marine you know the articulation leaves much to be desired. If they do them it would have to be from scratch imo.

Some time ago I found on eBay a small dio with two FDNY Firemen in 1/6 with a small bit of rubble and a flag. It was a tribute for 9/11.
I received it with no box and couldn't find any manufacturer indication on the piece but it was new (it came with a small decal set to number the firehouse on the helmet). I always assumed it was 21C, and just numbered the helmets with my son's firehouse.
I have a pic on my Webshot WWW site under Toys.
I'd be interested in knowing if it is fact a 21C piece. Does anybody know?
