British 1970's Troops figures

Post by jkinzel » Fri Sep 13, 2013 11:51 am

Just saw that "Call to Arms" has released a set of figures of British 1970's Paratroops based on the poses of the Britains Super Deetail Paras including the 4 "Lost Poses" figures,The bad news is it is a 1/72 scale set(I HATE 1/72) but CTA has a pretty good record of upscaling their sets to 54MM unlike Revell so fingers crossed eh.

Ya, but what the hell would you do with them, send them to the Falkland Islands to fight sheep?
I also have a fascination for old SUPER DEETAIL figures, not to mention the lost 4 poses, but really,
what would I use them for?

You need them for variety. The Airfix Commandos are post WWII. If you really collect Airfix they have the post WWII Germans and US too...... variety.

The AIRFIX British Commandos are WWII.
But AIRFIX also created (Cold War Period) W.German & British Inf. (in MKIII helmets)
AIRFIX also did modern US & SOVIET Inf. in 1:35

But better yet ESCI did modern US Inf. & Soviet Special Forces in 1:32
So ya, I take it back the DEETAIL Modern British Paratroopers can be put to battle but good luck trying to buy the ESCI Soviets.
