Looking for reference photos for non-US flown P-38s and Cors
I have an extra kit for both the P-38J and the F4U-1D and would like to build them in the colors of one of our Allies, but not British (I have a British Corsair).
I have not been able to find squat on the internet or in any of the Osprey/Squadron books I own. We did sell Lightnings to our Allies, didn't we? And we did sell Corsairs to folks other than the Brits, right?
Australian, New Zealand, French, etc., is there nothing?

There are French corsairs for their navy (50s), New Zealand, El Salvador in the 1950s, and different looking British corsairs for different theatres, if you don't mind repeating Royal Navy variants.
There are plenty of P-38 choices, including Portugal, Australia, Honduras, and the Republic of China.
Does it matter what time frame? Many are post WWII surplus...and sorry, I don't know what countries match your specific -J and -D models, but it's a start...

Actually looking for those active during WWII.
Should have been more specific.

Seriously, didn't the war photographers take pics of anything except our stuff?
Re: Looking for reference photos for non-US flown P-38s and
My reference book shows the Portuguese, Australian, and Republic of China P-38s are during the war, as is the New Zealand Corsair. Those are drawings, though.

Re: Looking for reference photos for non-US flown P-38s and
Thanks, RAD.
I guess the Chinese would be the easiest based on what little photo evidence I have to work with. I already have some Chinese national symbols from those decal sheets 21C used to sell for the 1/32 planes, and the plane itself seems to be nmf. I assume the tail stripes would be in the official Chinese national colors?
