Will someone please post or e-mail me the e-bay names this person is using? I wan't to be certain I don't purchase anything from him, nor allow him to buy anything I might sell. Thanks.

I strill think you should contact the Post Office as this sounds like postal fraud to me. Probably why the local police won't handle it.

Richmond, IN Strikes Again?

Post by parrish333 » Mon Dec 05, 2005 2:26 pm

I hate to re-open this topic, but just wanted to put a buyer-beware out on a user and location.

I initiated a trade with someone identifying themselves as Bhall243 from this board. I have no way at this point to verify if they were in fact bhall243 as we communicated via e-mail and not PMs.

I sent my end of the trade 3 weeks ago and have yet to see anything from them. They have given me some excuses which may yet turn out to be valid (in which case I will promptly rescind this warning), but three weeks is a long time.

I got especially worried when I searched the BST forum history and found that many previous scams on this board were originated from the same locale I sent my items --- Richmond, IN 47374.

Please be mindful of any trades/transactions going to this location.

bhall243 joined our forum on 1/29/05 and did his one and only post here on 1/30/05.

I think that was around the last time that Audie Murphy/Delta Strike Force did his scamming but I could be wrong.

Hey P51 why don't you do some kind of rating system for the members here. something like ebay. i think this would help prevent fraud.

The odds are too great that there would be TWO scammers focusing on 1:18, both from the same area - unless they are working together (or, of course, the same person).

I originally built an entire system to do something like that, but it is far to easy to cheat the system and gang up on someone or give someone an incorrect rating, so I scrapped the idea. Whenever it is I get some more free time (soooo much stuff backed up right now!), I'll look back into it.

I sold several planes to bhallg2k on ebay and he posted a little bit on groundpounders but I wonder if someone might have used a similiar username to get away with this. At any rate it's been a while ago so I don't remember bhall's real name, address etc but I sold him several planes and he was no trouble at all (quite pleasant to deal with in fact). Again, not sure if it's the same guy though.

Edited to say, nope, don't think it's the same guy. I looked and this is the guy I dealt with....
