So, after dicking around with solvents and clean up and all else I have decided to replace most all my enamels with acrylics. Enamels were part of my lead miniature painting legacy, but now that I am trying to use an airbrush most of the time I would prefer to keep things uniform so I can freely mix colors and avoid the adverse results of mixing different mediums.
So far I have had decent results with both Tamiya and Vallejo acrylics. Any comments?
I have an upcoming project where I plan to build 3 ME109s at once (Finnish, Bulgarian, and Italian) so what # paints in either brand would you recommend for a typical 74/75 over 76 paint scheme with mottling in 74/75/02 and for the yellow ID marks?
Also, what colors replicate the tricolor camo for German armor best?
Right now, except for the Imperial Japanese colors I got from Tamiya, all the acrylics I have are a small handful of Model Master. I prefer the Tamiya to the MM, that much I know. I only recently got a few tubes of Vallejo Model Color (NOT the ab version, which Hobby Lobby does not sell so I will do my future paint buying online) and have started to get the hang of them although my palette is limited at the moment.
I think flyboy attempted a color chart a while back but I don't have it in me to search right now, and I can't get painting until Saturday anyway.

Re: Paint and color suggestions needed.
Yea, I have a chart I am always updating as I test. It is NOT the final product yet! I have not had time to finish it. I have a 1/32 HE111 on the workbench needing to be finished. I will be finished it in Tamiya acrylics only. I can post some pics of it.
I've tried to keep it organized. :O I also have a He111 where I painted it with some of the popular mixes. I'll find that later.

Post November 1941 this was changed to RLM65v.2. Matched to VMC 907

It is possible that the underside colour was changed to match the general theatre colour of aircraft while the top remained RLM72/73 but I have not found any supporting evidence.
UPPER SURFACE HARD LINE SPLINTER PATTERN
For Seaplanes and maritime recon aircraft this remained the same throughout the war in all theatres and is RLM72/73
RLM72 matched to VMC980
RLM73 matched to VMC895
