Thanks Maritime. I thought while Pickelhaube was out west I'd post a few King Tiger pics, I always
look for reference photos before a build.
Building Pickel's customs has never been a problem for me, deciding on a paint scheme and
a theater of operation.....thats the hard part.
I'll stop by the store this week.

Re: 1/18 Tiger II Prototype Done - Production Started !! !
That KT took some abuse, I count at least 6 frontal hits, including in/on the ball mg/mount (sorry radio operator )! And it looks like the front turret's 180mm frontal armor was not sufficient to stop what was shooting at it. I think I recall reading about the engagement with this particular KT. If memory serves it was in the Falaise area of France with the 503rd, engaging U.S. troops by itself and was destroyed by accurate TD fire.normandy wrote:

Your right Panzerarm, in this pic they count 5 hits...someone missed the hit to the mg ball mount.

wow that king tiger looks grate! you have some skill there with that resin. im working on a 1/32 panther A . im nearing completion i should start molding soon. im wondering if youll help me out with some pointers and questions.
1: i see that all your molds have peaces of wood on them. what dose that help?
2: to get bubbles out i need a vacuum chamber. they are expensive and seem awkward. your molding big parts i can't imagine you bought a large vacuum chamber. if imagine you made one some how. so my question is what are you using for a vacuum chamber? i had an idea to use a shop vac and some Tupperware.
3: have you ever worked with soft resin? i plan on making the tracks out of soft resin but im not sure it will work. do you think it would work?
4: what company's resin and silicone are you using? hows the price and work ability? my first kit was alumate resin. but now i have some high impact resin from dascar plastics. its suppose to have a 15 min work time so thats going to be nice
i plan on making a hole 1/32 line of ww2 products. i have tons of blue prints and specs, im just getting started. the panther A is just my first one. you can see it here http://www.warbird-photos.com/gpxd/view ... =2&t=29709 jason

More cool pics, the King Tigers front armor was amazing. This KingTiger was obviously used as target practice. The only shot that made it through is on the turret, the others hit the slope. Check out the gun muzzle, looks like it took a hit also! You can imagine the chances of scoring that one fatal hit to the turret before the KingTiger could respond, any straight on hit to the Jackson from the KingTigers gun would have been fatal most likely so we can only imagine the courage it took to do that every day.normandy wrote:Your right Panzerarm, in this pic they count 5 hits...someone missed the hit to the mg ball mount.
