Chipping Your Models
Although I often give my warbird models a fair amount of weathering and staining I have held back on simulating chipping on all but a few Japanese, German and USAAF or USN warbirds. This is gradually changing as I revisit many of my earlier weathering projects and begin to apply chipping effects when it seems to further enhance the realism of the model's appearance. I thought I'd show a few examples of my handiwork. First up, FOV's OD B-26, which needed corrections like adding missing navigator's windows, gray not white lettering on the fuselage sides and better positioning of said lettering and the stars and bars as well:
