any thoughts as to which C-47 i should get: Model Power vs Cafereo?

I like the faded olive look of the MP version better than the dark olive green of the Cafereo, but the Cafereo costs a lot less and has a cleaner looking wing join.

Advice?

For me, I'd go with the MP C-47, not only because it's diecast, but some CafeReo decals arnt any good, if F-Toys had a WWII one I'd say it would be the best idea, but I think F-Toys only has the Spooky.

no cafereo has the spooky and tabby. I have the spooky and it's great. Highly recommended. My only criticism is that the two green colours are so close in shade it almost looks like just one shade of green is used. But otherwise an excellent model, with no decals to apply.

I think i've decided to go the cafereo route on the c-47 since the side troop door can be left open, whereas it's molded closed on the MP version.

Here it is 99% finished, my fingers are WAY to big to get those little numbers on there, but it's fine.

The hardest part had to be the tail wheel, it don't go on as easy as the instructions show!

But after some work, I finally got it, and I have to say, if you don't have this model, GET IT!
My F-100 should be here tomorrow, so ill post picks of it then.

Oh ok, guess the eBay seller just has it listed wrong, and now I want the CafeReo C-47, if the door can be left open, does it take decals?

yeah some of the tiny parts that come with these F Toys kits can be a challenge. Like the seat and instrument panel in the Claude and Buffalo. Wow.

The Cafereo C-47 does come with decals, for the nose and tail markings. I assume there is a choice of two or three aircraft.

Yeah I figured this out on my first (F-Toys) model, the F-105D, my biggest thing is the decals, even more so the CafeReo/JWings decals, witch is going to be a pain for me if I turn out getting it.
I am currently bidding on a F-Toys tropical Ju-88 so it will be my first F-Toys WWII twin-engine aircraft

The MP C-47 is a good choice. You might also want to add the Atlas C-46----if you can find one ( the line is being re-released under the DeAgostini label, I believe )-----but there might be a small problem with the fit of the canopy and the location of some markings. Image

i would like to get a c-46 but they cost a lot. Not worth it in my opinion. If they get re-released by deagostini that would be great, as they should be pretty inexpensive. I'd like to see the Hudson, Noratlas and a couple of other re-released too.

The C-46 would be cool, I just wish they would have done a better job on it...

I'm thinking about getting a F-Toys Jap bomber after I get the 2 Ju-88's, any good references?

Nice Kingfisher HP. Lots of fun putting together these gashapon toys. I ordered my first single engine plane, an F4F Wildcat.
Wanted something to put behind my growing Japanese bomber collection, but I expect it to be pretty damn small.

Aferg, as far as Japanese bombers, I don't know, the Betty seems to be nice. Wanted to get a solid green one to go with the brown and green IXO/ Altaya.
F-Toys is coming out with a Nell bomber, though I haven't seen one available yet. You can still get the Sally, though those are getting thin.
I just put together a Helen. Not that impressed with it, but it seems to be better than the IXO/ Altaya version.

I couldn't figure which C-47 I wanted, but narrowed it down to the D-Day Cafereo version. I got one on order from 7toys7. The IXO/ Altaya version has a funky looking cockpit that looks wrong, and the Corgi has painted cockpit windows and is a lot more, so I settled on the Cafereo. I do want the Spooky also.

I was looking at that but also noticed what all CafeReo had, does anyone have this model?

I think it's pretty cool, even comes with a starter truck!

no i can't..my camera's on the fritz and i haven't put the model together yet anyway. I read reviews online giving the nod to the Cafereo over the Altaya on accuracy and quality.

Well I guess I'll add it to the list then, on the first I'm getting a .38 Spc, and $125 worth of 1/144!

I also found this, http://www.ehobbies.com/tes650039.html anyone know how good a model it is?
Does it even have gear doors, or is it like the NewRay planes, just smaller?

i've got one, though i haven't opened it yet. Seems pretty good. Canopy is painted on, not clear tinted plastic, but it looks fine in the small scale. No u/c it's in flight position only. I don't know of any other pre built f 35's in 1/144.
