Merit at 2013 New York Toy Fair
Merit at 2013 New York Toy Fair
We are pleased to announce that Merit will be showing in New York Toy Fair. Our Booth Number is 4314 and we will have a few "Big" Model Kits as well as "Built n Painted" items on display. Sorry no new 1/18 plane on display because the molds are not ready at the moment. However, we will have the JSI P-38 "Marge" with us. Hope to see some on you there.

JIM:
Thanks for the update,
I'm surprised that no one ever did a 1/18 "Marge" before. May I suggest Rex Barber's "Miss Virgina" as a follow-on to "Marge"?

Hmm the Me 163 Komet can't be classified as a jet, so thats out the window. FW-190 would be cool, oh well.
Guess I'll stick with Pickel's 1:18 King Tiger. Its new for 2013.

A jet would be awesome......
Hope that Merit will at least confirm that a jet is coming even if they aren't ready to tell what it is.
Makes since after what I read from Aviatornut's Facebook page.

Re: Merit at 2013 New York Toy Fair
Here Merit, I have money in hand waiting for a FW-190A5, probably one of most wanted pieces in 1/18 history considering the ridiculous choice of a Dora for the FW by 21C. The only available one in the last decade was produced as a retrofit by a crazy and unstable rip-off artist, probably now holed-up in central Michigan clutching his guns and too afraid to actually respond to the people he ripped off.
It's small, it's not a huge honkin' jet, it's GERMAN and it has many many many repaints available.
Please tell me you want my money.

Lets not get too excited about a rumour passed via an email.
Jim, and Merit have delivered some nice surprises the last year, and I have faith that they know the 1/18 market, and will give us something that should please many.
Would love a FW 190 A, but there is already a Dora , so not like the Butcher bird hasn't been done.
Stay tuned.
Re: Merit at 2013 New York Toy Fair
Well I will go out on alimb but I think my first choice will be the A-10 if not that the SU27

To bad it's a kit instead of a prebuilt...
A helicopter does not want to fly, it just vibrates so much that the ground rejects it

Not a big fan of 1-32 but since this particular model will be significantly larger I think I may get it after all. Its size should help keep it visibly balanced among the rest of my 1:18 collection. lol
Specs:
Wingspan: 988 mm (38.9 in)
Length: 788 mm (31 in)

Re: Merit at 2013 New York Toy Fair
This is really tempting (Need I reference my Forum Name?), to decorate that place...in my house...that I will make for it...
EDIT: Just coming into my mind now is this: From playing with Lego (don't judge) in my hobby room, a mini-figure so happened to end up against my 1/32 tanks, and what would you know? Perfect fit! Now, imagine my glee as I think about creating a custom Lego crew to decorate this awesome flying marvel!
Or, in spite of my inner kid, create that crash-site diorama I have always dreamed of.
Thanks for the updates, and I hope this won't cost too much!

According to the site below it seems they are aiming to keep the price sightly above $200. Wing Scale had quoted $250 a year or two ago. So I guess its going to fall somewhere in between $200 and $250 maybe.

Pickel,
If this info about Merit NOT making a 190A turns out to be accurate, will you still knock out the conversion parts? I have a butchered D-9 with the A model tail mods done which was started just before the Merit rumors surfaced. It looks absolutely pitiful in it's present state!

Do you guys not know the B-17 kit is the same one that was mentioned about a year ago, when the B-25 was first on its way?
