1:144 Corgi BBMF lancaster?
Does anyone have this model that can tell me how detailed it is?
And is there any optional parts and moving parts?

Get the F Toys 1/144 Lancaster. It's a better model and way cheaper. You will have to put on a few decals but some of the markings come already printed on.

Re: 1:144 Corgi BBMF lancaster?
I collect a lot of F-toys aircraft, I just ordered an F-105 and a candy cane tail PBY a few minute's ago, but...the decal part is always my issue, (I've got big fingers) so it's sometimes difficult with these smaller models, so for just $15.00 I thought the corgi Lancaster would be a (maybe ok) choice, but I'm not sure on the detail, I'm new to corgi (other then corgi showcase) so I don't know how detailed these models are, I only own (other then showcase) a corgi 1/72 "Paul's Mig Killer" F-86, and it really isn't THAT great, yes the weels are rubber, they roll, and the canopy slides, but the gear are unoptional and many other things, so long story short, I'd like to know how "great" the details are on this model...aferguson wrote:Get the F Toys 1/144 Lancaster. well i can't help you on the Corgi, as i haven't seen it in person. I can tell you when i was trying to decide a few weeks ago about geting the Corgi Lanc, i stumbled across a forum that discussed all the 1/144 Lancaster options and the F toys version was the clear favorite, with the Corgi getting quite a few unflattering comments.

The Corgi Lancaster is OK. Diecast is a plus, but it lacks on the detail side. Actually, I like the detail on the somewhat smaller Model Power Postage Stamp aircraft better. The Corgi 1:144 B-17 is even worse.
The Japanese models are pretty good and I have a few (not the Lancaster) but one of my personal favorite 1:144 aircraft is the Hobby Master 1:144 B-24D. Its as well detailed as the Japanese Plastic kits, has diecast in the construction, optional ordinance and landing gear, moving turrets, and simply looks good. The major sticking point is the price, which is really too high for what it is. Also, they didn't detail the ball turret...

That's just it, I don't buy any hobby master witty wings ect just for that reason, something so small shouldn't cost you out the A$$ for example a 1/200 Gemini 200 C-17 for $85, I got an altaya one for $12 that's just as good IMOtmanthegreat wrote:The Corgi Lancaster is OK. I too was looking at the various 1:144 Lancasters. The Flying Mule has up close pics of various aircraft, even if it is not in stock if you do a Google search usually the Flying Mule will still have pictures of it, though you can't get it by just going to their site for sold out or discontinued items, you have to do a Google search. Though it is in stock for cheap.
I took a look at the Corgi 1:144 Lanc and decided I wouldn't be buying it anytime soon.

apparently, the Altaya Lanc is pretty good and a good second choice to the F toys. Altaya also has made a grand slam bomb version of it, which also looks quite good, albeit needing some detail painting of the bomb.
I would imagine we'll see a dambuster version of it too someday, something less likely to be seen from F Toys

I already know about this model, storekeeper-paradise owner Adam Czopek, is a business partner, but for the model I'm not real big on the brighter color of paint on this model.aferguson wrote:apparently, the Altaya Lanc is pretty good and a good second choice to the F toys. Add $100 or more of in stock (no pre-order) items to your cart.
Add a small (9"x12") 3Wire Display Base to your cart.
Enter coupon: NDTW9956 on the checkout payment screen.
This ^ is for the flyingmule, something I'm not going to use if y'all want it...

Re: 1:144 Corgi BBMF lancaster?
Get those coupon codes from FM myself, but nothing I really want this go around thanks.
Corgi is currently running the last two or three releases of their 1:72 Lancaster as Grand Slam or at least Tall Boy bomb versions, though night schemes with black undersides. Already have a regular 1:72 Lanc so passed on them. The IXO 1:144 is kinda unique, but odd to see any Lanc in daylight undersides.
Storekeepers - Paradise has a lot of good deals and plenty of nice stuff. One of the Polish sellers recommended in the other 1:144 thread.
Will be making an order from him sometime.

Re: 1:144 Corgi BBMF lancaster?
Lucky for me I get free models from storekeeper, so maybe ill have him send me the altaya Lancaster, sense I can't find a cheap F-Toys one, and that would be my thread on storekeeper, because I haven't seen any other retailer of IXO/Altaya models anywhere else, and he's also a good guy to do business with, a true salesman IMO.Dauntless wrote:Get those coupon codes from FM myself, but nothing I really want this go around thanks.

Re: 1:144 Corgi BBMF lancaster?
I have read some reviews on the IXO / Altaya Lancaster. The earlier model with the typical night bomber scheme is a little different than the recent tall boy version, with lots of if not too much rivet detail, but still worth having according to some 1:144 aficionados.
Along with the Short Sterling (another excellent review) a little harder to find these days.

Re: 1:144 Corgi BBMF lancaster?
a minor point but the new one is carrying a grand slam bomb, not a tallboy. The grand slam bomb was 11 tons, quite a bit larger than the tallboy. The paint scheme on ixo's grand slam lanc is for 617 squadron early april '45 from a raid to bomb u-boat pens.

Re: 1:144 Corgi BBMF lancaster?
Point noted Aferg.
Confusing them with the recent 1:72 Corgi Tallboy releases.
This Grand Slam Lancaster is in the daylight raid colors and a bigger bomb, hence carrying it outside the bombay doors.
Corgi released one of those also, but this one is more affordable.
