warning 7TOYS7

Post by aferguson » Mon Dec 03, 2012 6:01 am

7TOYS7 is a chinese ebay seller. They sell a lot of stuff, some applicable to our hobby, so i thought i would issue a warning to anyone that plans to buy from them.

If they send the wrong item, broken item etc you are out of luck. They will not refund under any circumstances. They just go though the motions of giving good customer service but will not return any money unless you send back the item to China, which has to be done with tracking and costs a fortune, probably more than the original price of the item.

Since they send all items with tracking, you can only open a claim for item not as described, which requires the buyer to return the item, with tracking. 7TOYS7 knows this and knows most buyers are not going to shoulder all the extra cost, so they can get away with not giving a refund.

Most times they seem to be fine, but about 1% of the time there are problems with orders from them and if so, you're out of luck and out your money.

Ordered batteries for my sons RC helo....... they set the wrong items, they wanted
pictures of the batteries emailed to them, items shipped and insured back to china
and that was for credit......... no refund.
I don't order from that company or that country any more.

We can not deal with China direct for the reasons mentioned. Chinese products offered thru dealers here in the U.S. can be purchased without problems unresolved or through eBay. The problem comes with dealing direct. That we can avoid....

7TOYS7 is an ebay dealer. There are still problems as i outlined in my first post. Ebay/paypal will not refund money unless item is returned with tracking, which costs a fortune. Chinese sellers know this and know buyers won't return because of the cost, so can get away with shipping wrong items, broken items etc and not making good on it.

Folks
I get in touch with 7TOYS7 about this problem. And that is the their Answer

First of all, I would like to say thank you for your link.
I would review it and see what we could respond.
This is very kind of you.
We would evaluate our customer service and see what we could make the better service.
But on the other side, we still need to protect our selves.
As in the past few years, we have been deceived by customers.

That's why we need customer to send us a picture to show the wrong item or broken item when they received our parcel.
Once we received the picture, we would either refund or resend the item depending on the case.
If we send them the wrong item and request customers to return it , we would bear the cost.
But, if the customer purchase the item and does not want it, the postage fee would be at customer's cost.

Thank you once again for your remind!

that's interesting because that's not what they told me. They said they need pic, which i understand but that i had to return the item. They said nothing about paying for return, just that once they received the wrong item back, they would send the replacement.

Now, the english isn't very good, so maybe i misinturpreted, but them sending out a replacement once they got a picture, was not what i was lead to believe...i was under the impression that i also had to return the item first.

I have sent them pics of the wrong item. The response i got was that 'once photos received replacement sent'.

To me, they were saying that they haven't got my pictures, even though i clearly attached them to my email and received a copy of the email, to verify the pics were attached.

So, i'm not sure now if they are pretending they didn't get the pics, so they don't have to send out the correct item, or if they were saying they got the pics and are going to send out the correct item. As i said the english wasn't clear and could be taken either way.

So...i sent out another email stating i sent the pics (plus i sent them again with the new email) and requested confirmation when the correct item is sent to me.

I am awaiting a response. It's sorta frustrating going through all this when they goofed in the first place. In the past, i've had other sellers just take me at my word and send out the correct item.

Thank you for the headsup concerning your problems with 7toys7. I absolutely understand your warning and will take it into consideration when making future purchases. I've made several orders for 1:6 items from their website (http://www.7toys7.com) without any problems. Normally warnings such as yours about dealers with questionable customer service would cause me to steer clear but not in this case. I say that because their prices are really hard to beat plus they have very reasonable shipping rates. None of my orders has been over $25 and taking what you've said into consideration I think I will keep that amount as a limit. Good luck with getting your problem with them resolved.

ok well, after several days of back and forth discussion/negotiation they have finally sent my correct item to me (at least they say they have and i have a tracking number).

They asked me to pay $3 to keep the wrong item. While i obviously didn't have to, it was of some use to me and worth several dollars more than that, so in the spirit of future business relations i paid the $3.

So, all seems to be well, now. Bit of a hassle though.
